Best Sodas - Regular and Diet

Coke from a pub tap.

Lilt, but only from a can, and on a hot summer's day.

My missus always asks for coke, so I buy her a two litre bottle, but I always go to it when I feel like something refreshing.

A&W Root Beer is utterly hideous.

Sparkling water master race coming through

A person would have to be insane to drink diet anything... It's poison... And regular pop is probably just as bad...

I've been going to a specialty pop shop in a downtown market in Grand Rapids a few times a year and buying some artisanal/imported/small batch sarsaparillas. Usually deuces for around $10. It's a treat and a nostalgia thing for me...

Also, has to be ice cold. As close to freezing as possible...

Tried this recently and it's one of the best things I've ever had...

Jarritos kick ass

I like they Pineapple and Tamarind flavor

Lift (Australian lemon soda, now gone)
A&W root beer
A&W cream soda
Cherry Coke
Dr Pepper
Coke

Those would be the main ones, a Tier 1.

After that it's all kind of stuff I'd have as a once-off but nothing I'd have regularly.

These days if I have anything, it's Coke Zero. Added sugar is the devil. But, having soda as a kid was really great.

What is Tamarind and what does it taste like?

It's a fruit that's common in Latin American and Asian food, it's kind of like a tan to brown pod with a waxy/sticky interior, sort of sweet and sour and mellow flavor. I grew up with it It's delicious imo. You usually see processed into syrups or pastes to make it easier to use. In Puerto Rico we have snow cones called piraguas, it's common to have your piragua topped with tamarindo syrup no matter what flavor you get.

I like the flavored Sprite variations. Right now the tropical mix is my jam, I also like their cranberry variant during the holidays.

I love orange soda, but I swear they just don't taste as good as they used to.

Coke from McDonalds, one of the only reasons to go McDonalds. Someone posted the limited edition raspberry Coke, that shit was delicious.

When I really want something sweet and aggressive I like a Tahitian treat.

For memories, Wildwood Peach.

As I mentioned Jarritos kick ass.

I don't if this counts as a soda or not but has anyone tried an egg cream? Strange name for it since it doesn't have eggs or cream but from what I understand it made with milk, carbonated water and chocolate syrup.

Never had one myself.

I don't drink much soda, but when I do...

*Cherry Coke
*Pepsi Vanilla
*Mountain Dew Baja Blast
*Mountain Dew Watermelon

Do they even make Pepsi Vanilla anymore?

What are your favorite sodas, regular and diet?

Dr.Pepper Cherry Vanilla Zero - this is my favorite soda and it is diet. It is straight up the only diet soda I actually full on like.

A&W Rootbeer - This I think is my favorite regular soda. Ice cold Mello Yello or Mountain Dew is pretty high up the least and close to this. I think I like A&W rootbeer a little better though. RBC rootbeer is good too but there is something about it that isn't as good as A&W.
Something i never understood about North America is these shitty, gettho ass sodas that everyone loves. And i was born and raised in Montreal.
