It was beautiful, no doubt about it. Guys like that are so damn elite when a guy is against the cage, they do their best work when they can pick their shots and slip without having to cover distance.
It's a testament to Gus's ability how he finished him, Gus's footwork has kept his chin alive against guys like Manuwa and Glover.
Overall his standup game is elite. He had a nice step in jab, a good straight right, nice head and body kicks, and
nasty leg kicks... full Dutch MT style turning over the hip. Easily his second best weapon. Of course we all know that the shark tank of grapplers at WW got the better of him, even though his TDD was pretty solid... once he was taken down he often stayed there. Still he won over Mr. BMF Masvidal, Kampmann, Hazelett, Scott Smith, Duane Ludwig, Erick Silva, Brennan Ward, Radev... good resume though I think the lack of 'UFC names' will get him lost in the history books.
Additionally, I'll throw Jordan Mein out there as having a nice left hook to his striking arsenal. Underrated guy.
