He didn't get a small crack in his skull; Cyborg's sinuses and the area around it was really broken up. Its hard to say how much damage a single KO will do to you. Besides, Cyborg has been knocked out a number of times before then. I bet he'd rather have his lights shut off and fight another day then to have to retire (he should have retired earlier) due to a skull fracture.
