I've been thinking about getting a grappling dummy's for some time now just for some drilling in my spare time or if I can't make it to training.
I've seen a few that come unfilled and was wondering what id the best thing them with?

Old towels also. Remove any buttons, zippers, or anything hard from any clothing you may use.

Just that, I've seen that people have used some sand too for weight?
Do people really think that it's necessary?

Only thing I would do is maybe add a small sandbag in the waist/chest area as that helps mimic the human body a bit better if you throwing it etc.
