I saw it live several times. Alex kills it on Hot For Teacher.

Pro drummer here, who's done endless amounts of cover gigs over the years. Some great picks here. One I haven't seen yet but people always recognize (good or bad) is Honky Tonk Women. It's the cowbell part. I've done informal experiments on this; playing the intro without the cowbell part (no one moves), play with with the cowbell part - everyone moves. Personally, playing this song makes me want to eat a gun.

More froggy metal :

This one is just a kick and a snare but it does kick and snare right :

It's a led zeppelin sample but I like the way the beasties use it more

For me, anything drumming = Phil Collins. I'm going to spoiler tag a long list, but my favorite from him would probably be I Don't Care Anymore (Solo)...

...unless we count instrumentals, in which case The West Side (Solo) needs a shout-out...

...while his most underrated is probably I Know There's Something Going On (Frida)...

...but really anything with Phil on the kit is gold in my book

For some reason I thought of this Peter Gabriel song.

"Some reason"? There's one reason: Phil Collins ;)

I really appreciate that massive 80s gated reverb drum sound! The drums weren't afraid to come up front and take up a lot of space in the mix.

Funny enough, that was Peter Gabriel's idea (he started as a drummer) and Phil was pissed when Peter said no cymbals allowed. But Phil ended up loving it and the experience of drumming for Peter on that album changed his whole sound both with Genesis and solo.
