Best contemporary metal...metal heads unite!

I am a metal-head, always have been since the age of 6. Was wondering what contemporary (past the year 2000) metal you like and want to share? I particularly prefer thrash metal over groove metal but it's all good. Need beats for the gym.

From this list I'm interested in Neurosis (although I wouldn't call that metal) and Nails. lol at Magrudergrind being on that list. Tombs just gets more and more boring to me, but I appear to be in the minority opinion there. Most of it's just a bunch of bands that are a decade or more past their primes.

IMO Lamb of God's Ashes of the Wake was the best album to come out since the year 2000. But I don't really stay up on the whole metal scene any more. Also, maybe And Then You'll Beg from Cryotopsy. Maybe it's a tie.

Lucifer Alfa: check this out...excellent mix here if you are into the heavy stuff like me...cannibal corpse did a cover of Sepultura roots!!! Unbelievable. That's on song #3.

If you're into grindcore, Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Pig Destroyer are essential listening.

Amogh Symphony and Blotted Science are two excellent instrumental metal bands I highly recommend as well.
