Best bear attack movies

Don't know about bear attack movie, but the Revenant definitely had the best attack scene I've seen. Then again, maybe I should watch more bear movies. Seems like the vast majority are terrible B movies, but apparently from reading this thread there's a few good ones out there.

Alright just watched Backcountry. What a great and brutal film, sits with you after it's over. Man... surprised, and the actress did a fantastic job as well. Didn't expect it to be that visceral.

Why isn't there a poll?
Your mom's still dancing on it

I'll take "Things I don't need to see in a movie" for one thousand, Alex

I can’t remember if this movie has any bear attack scenes. I haven’t watched it in about 30 years but I remember watching it a lot when I was like 4/5 years old

I really enjoyed The Edge so i might check backcountry out

Backcountry is really good

Yep, BACKCOUNTRY gets props for having the grisliest ( pun definitely intended :D ) bear attack among these films. It's nasty as hell.

Back country was legit.

That bear attack scene was absolutely brutal.

Call me crazy but the guy’s acting after the bear attack was some of the best I’ve ever seen. I felt every ounce of his fear, panic, pain and acceptance of death. Kudos to the actor.

The Edge is light years better than Backcountry.

The Edge is a great movie period. But most of these others are just good by bear movie standards. Including backcountry

They handled it pretty realistically rather than making the bear into some horror movie trope. I do appreciate that.

Yeah I liked backcountry.

Actually haven't seen the edge, at least I don't think I have. Will have to check it out

Don't know if I agree with that. Very different type of movies though. Backcountry left a stronger emotional impression on me and seemed more real, while obviously being a low budget movie, whereas The Edge is a more solid all around action survivalist movie.

On a related note, the death scene in the movie The Grey after they crash the plane is probably the most realisticly acted one I've seen on film. Underrated survival movie although it's more philosophical/symbolic. There's a sadness that permeates the film especially felt from Liam Neeson, probably because he had lost his wife not long before filming.
