Best bang for your buck wifi extender

Microwave's absolutely interfere at 2.4GHz; is normal, and not a sign the Microwave is faulty/dangerous.
5GHz isn't as subject to interference, and supports higher connection speeds; however, the signal doesn't travel through solid objects as well (walls etc.).

Microwaves are not supposed to leak out of the ovens. They have a grounded case and the mesh inside the door window is supposed to be the correct size to contain microwaves. A test is to put a 2.4 ghz cordless landline phone inside your microwave with the oven off and call your home number from another phone. The base station should not be able to connect to the phone.

There may be poorly constructed microwaves or the ground may be bad in your electrical system.

They are not supposed to leak in theory, in practice many (most?) do though. I've proven this in the field many times with a wireless spectrum analyser (years ago, I don't do much with WLANs anymore).

I have a Deco tp-Link Mesh network and it works well where extenders will not.
