Who are the best and worst referee who have worked for the UFC?

Herb Dean is the worst ref.

I don't have a bunch of fights I can recall Herzog fucking up so I'll pick him for current best.

I always liked Rosenthal even though he let Weidman nearly kill Munoz

Every referee has his/her good moments and bad. I think most referees in the UFC are decent, but make mistakes here and there because MMA is a tough sport to be a ref in.

Big Dan is both a good referee for not stopping the Kongo-Barry fight and let the epic comeback play out, and also a bad referee for shit like these

I like Herzog. As far as worst...it seems on any given night Tognoni, Dan, and Dean make a bad call. Dean had a year or two where he kept messing it up but I think he's been alright recently.

I always like BJM as a ref. He was a bit of an ass but he was consistent with it and seemed very vocal to the fighters so there was never much confusion.
Worst has to be Kim Winslow or Steve Mazzagatti unlike Herb and Peterson they never made the right calls and botched a fight on every single card they ref'd.

As mentioned already several times, Jason Herzog is the most consistent ref we have. He is mostly very sharp with his decision making, let's fights go that aren't over, stop fights that are. Very little controversy with Herzog, mostly.

I'd need to really ponder on who is the worst. Herzog is a notch or two above everyone else, but, of the rest, no single name jumps out at me. The rest all have made big errors here and there, but I don't think any single ref outdoes the others, in that regard. It's just Herzog >> and everyone else.

he is actually trying to stop Hardy from getting hit after the bell. was it the right approach i dunno lol but at least there is a reason for it.

True, I haven’t thought about Herb in a minute, which means he’s been pretty good lately. He was a disaster for a long stretch to the point where it looked like he was questioning himself every time it was time to make a decision regarding a finish.

Judges have been far worse than refs, as of late.

Herzog is the best currently. Everyone else is a mixed bag. You would.think for how long Herb has been doing it he would get better but nope. Big John was also very good. Rosenthal was also very good.
