Doesn't matter when Bernie is calling out all these corporations to step up, and screaming about them being rich enough to up their wages, and Bernie himself is being a stickler with the dollars he could easily give his own employees. How would Bernie like it right now, if someone stepped in and told him that he had no choice but to pay them more, like he wants to do to people not named Bernie Sanders?

Half his workers are probably working 20 hours a week, making 50$ an hour.

These campaign workers were choosing to work 60 hours a week, and now want more money for making that choice.

Have to call bs on tbat. Bernie is a seasoned politician and a 2x dem nom candidate. His compaign manger and senior staffers def knew how many man hrs their team will have to grind out to win this. One thing all staffers from every major candidate agree and speak on is the amount of hrs the job entails. This is about stretching a compaign dollar as far as you can because the spigot can easily run dry.

But here is the key. No one is asking them to work those hours. They have a shared goal, and these people are choosing to work those hours.

They are being asked or not so subtlety encouraged to do it. Noone goes the extra mile because they believe in a shared goal and believe in the cause, then at the early stages of compaign turn around and say "fuck you, pay me."

Surprised man, figured you would be the most thrilled about this. Workers being good capitalists. That's what you said about what unions are, and this one is maximizing leverage

I highly doubt that. This is being portrayed as a solely wage per hour debate. When you're in a union and get additional benefits like paid time off, medical benefits, etc... then your income is really much greater. The knock on Bernie would be if some other candidate was compensating their team more than him including all the union benefits.

Because they're easily replaceable, and Bernie "The Tyrant" Sanders will fire their asses, if they're not busting their hump for him 60 hours a week for slave wages with no overtime.

I don't know what's worse. That Bernie knows what he's doing, and is blowing smoke up everyone's ass about his passion for workers and livable wages, or if he's just now figuring out how payrolls work, and how it effects his bottom line.

It doesn't have to be hourly. There are exempt and non exempt full time employees. I can't remember which is which but both wages are set for 40 hour work weeks, but one gets paid overtime and the other doesn't

Is this a self reporting deal, where I get to read some story a month later about Bernie staffers saying they worked 110 hours a week, making 500k, wasting the donors money, when they actually worked 10 hours.
