Just when I thought Sanders couldn't get any more ridiculous this happens! Bernie claims to be "busy" which is why he can't attend AIPAC and speak.

Read the comments. He seems determined to lose the Jewish vote and to win the Muslim vote

Then go to Aljazeer or far left outlets and read how happy the anti-Israel crowd is and how conspiracy theorists are literally cheering that Bernie is standing against 'Zionism and Israel'.

^^ Literally all the comments are by radicals 'International socialists" and hate filled BDS activists and people who claim he is "a real jew".

"Sanders had received pressure in recent days not to speak at the policy conference, which will also be addressed, live by satellite from Israel, by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

More than 5,000 people signed a petition orchestrated by anti-Israel activist Max Blumenthal urging Sanders to reject the invitation.
Blumenthal’s father, Sydney Blumenthal, is a longtime confidant and adviser to Secretary Clinton, whose email correspondence with the Democratic frontrunner has been at the center of the controversy over her decision to use a private email server for official State Department communications."

You're not calling Bernie an antisemite? What a surprise.

There is no evidence to suggest he is but I think he is delusional and driven by global socialism. In any case the topic of this thread is why he rejected and why it is drawing the disgust of so many Jews, pro Israel secular people, pro Israel Christians and yet simultaneously drawing MASSIVE APPLAUSE by Muslims, and far left Anti-Israel activists, including BDS supporters.

Why is this?

If this move of his was such a good thing then why is it literally being only celebrated on social media and online by people who hate Israel and write stuff like "Good f#ck Israel and zionism!! free Palestine blah blah blah".

Why?

It will be interesting to see how Trump will be received at AIPAC.

According to this:
http://www.jewishjournal.com/nation/article/from_aipac_to_trump_michael_glassners_journey

Michael Glassner is Trumps national political director and came from AIPAC.

The Trump family is married into Jewish families as well.

AIPAC may work against any sort of populism outside of Israel, and are pro open borders (not for Israel obviously), but I think they will be fine with Trump. He may not be their first choice, but he's manageable.

The vast majority want an American leader not an Israeli leader but Americans are very conditioned to be pro-Israel and anyone who isn't their career is over.

This is why I find it hard to like Donald Trump, who can't shut up about the Iran deal. I heard Trump talk about things like how you can insult Christianity but not other religions, but doesn't he understand Jews own the media and are the one's who mock Christianity the most?

I have my doubts Bernie Sanders would even be the first Jewish president. I know we've had nothing but Jewish governments where a people who make up just a few percent in some cases make the majority of presidents administrations (Bill Clinton's was supposedly 56% Jewish) There's plenty of lists out there.

How do you know they have your interests as Americans and not Israel first? what if they use their influence to push us into wars that destroyed he Middle East and caused the refugee crisis that is now destroying Europe?

All the candidates are shills as far as I'm concerned, I don't think Sanders will be any different.

Trump should be their choice before Cruz. Trump is very pro Israel and not an ideologue nor is he an evangelical Christian Zionist who listens to pastors who want world war III, so 'rapture' can happen and Jesus can return to forcibly concert Jews.

Cruz should scare everyone and he us a dirtbag.

Oh stop. We get it you got a tinfoil hat and hate Israel, jews and christians.

Lol at Bernie not being first jewish president.

Who was the first jewish president then? All I have heard before we're CT about FDR and LBJ maybe having Jewish ancestry. Even if they did they were not practicing Jews.

AIPAC sucks that's why. Another good move by Bernie.

Bernie will speak to J-Street I'm sure.

Bibi Netanyahu screwed up by playing hard in the 2012 election and making Israel support a partisan political issue.

You saying this just proves my point. You have no credibility and seem to hate anything which is logical which you deem as the "establishment".

You also probably agree with all the radicals who applaud this move as an effort to "stick it to Israel". Don't you find it odd that this decision is applauded by radicals who do not reflect good on Bernie?

You seem always more concerned with being apart of fringe small opinions so long as it is 'against' the "establishment". You are more concerned about image than policy.

Shoo.

Theyre a lobby for a foreign Goverment that influences out Goverment and supports war over peace at the expense of the US and its citizens.

Bernie could of used this opportunity to go against AIPAC like Susan rice did. He basically rejected a grand opportunity in order to side with far left radicals who hate Israel and are now cheering "f#ck Israel and zionism, and Aipac". That is herd thinking

Opposition to Israel is largely controlled opposition from Jews themselves. J-Street, BDS, Jewish voice for peace...

If Bernie wanted to stop what Israel does he would talk about stopping sending so much money to Israel and even sanctions. But instead he supports giving them more money. I'm not sure who decides sanctions in the US but I doubt those Jews at the US treasury would be to happy about having to do that.

OP you seem to have some weird Jew fetish. Care to explain it?

He's going to give you some 10 paragraph load of bullshit. Here's the nutshell.

There is an inherent problem not only with this thread, but also with any thread posted not only in this forum, but what I would assume, almost any forum in America. It is simply this. There is always that loud little handful that will attack anything criticizing Israel as bigoted or antisemitic rendering pretty much all conversation almost useless, right or wrong. If a politician sides with Israel they are siding with political money and power and an advantage that will hold over anyone seen as not supportive of Israel, let alone should they appear to side with her enemies. Call that what you will, but it is simple truth.

At the same time we are dealing with AIPAC, who have spied on America since Israel was born. It is open fact. Everyone following along and all politicians know this. This group lobbies both democrats and republicans. Think about that for a second. Who ever thought that a foreign nation could openly bribe our politicians and that this would be accepted as normal? Did our forefathers envision legal bribes to our politicians from Americans, let alone those who work for a foreign government? The whole thing is fucked.

Most Western nations (and beyond) you will find these lobby groups so it's quite similair across the board

Canada has some orgs that influence politics here in the same way, and our politicians are required to support Israel

Canadian Jewish Congress
Canadian Zionist Organization
B’nai Brith
Canada- Israel Committee

These groups are in turn part of the international network tied in with the World Jewish Congress. So it is no wonder that Israel gets an unusual amount of support.

Just to be clear, Netanyau stood up Obama, a sitting US president of the party you say you align with, and I didn't hear you crying a river then @SouthoftheAndes .
