UFC 222 is shitty. This isn't going to save the card but it helps, at least a small amount.

I think Green is improving and slightly underrated, but I don't see how Dariush doesn't take this.

He won't oblige Green in making it a fistfight. He's only going to strike if he has an advantage there (which he might), otherwise he will grapple.

I have Beneil.

He almost always surprises me. Whenever I’ve bet against him he has pulled it off.

He beat people like:
.Charlie Brennamen (when he was hyped)
.Daron Cruikshank
.Jim Miller
.Michael Johnston
.James Vick

I think he has faced better competition than Green.

I know they have faced a few of the same opponents and that Bobby has faced people like:
.Pat Healy
.Josh Thompson
.Dustin Porier
Etc

I just think Beneil has that ‘Moose-Like’ I don’t give a fuck attitude. Born to fight.

I think Bobby is born to scrap.

There’s a difference.

Stupid match-making. When guy likes to stand up and strike, the other likes to fight safe, and he will go for the takedown.

Strikers should be matched with strikers. Grapplers should be matched with grapplers. Unless it is a title shot or contender fight that can't be avoided.

interesting. always down to watch Bobby in there. gonna be a tough fight for him though.

fuck it. lets go bobby!

Which one is which? Cat remember the last time Dariush fought a grappling heavy fight and Green mostly strikes.

that’s a quick step up the ladder for Bobby. interesting matchmaking.

lol what?

Dariush's last 4 fights have all been standup -- and all were wars except the Magomedov fight.

Respectfully, I disagree. If a grappler can’t handle a striker, or striker can’t handle a grappler down the line then they have no business sniffing a title fight.

The only way people should be able to climb the ranks is if their overall game is well rounded enough to handle any type of fight.

Doesn’t mean they have to excel, but take a guy like prime Chuck Liddell or prime Crocop, primarily strikers who could either defend the takedown or get back to the feet when needed forcing their opponents to fight their fight.

Nice, good showcase fight for Dariush.

Dariush's fight to lose.

If he is smart he will just wrestlefuck Bobby for 15 minutes, might even sub him.

It’s a good match-up, I think Dariush will grind out a decision or maybe even a late sub

Fight safe? Have you only seen his Michael Johnson fight?

The KO's on Dariush' record are from him going full out Werdum vs Stipe on fool's.

He was fucking Barboza up on the feet until he got caught, of course this was probably due to the threat of the take down.

He also knocked James Vick out dead. James Vick is way taller, and had a reach advantage, and is a better boxer on paper. Dariush stalked him, cornered him, and knocked him the fuck out.

Dariush is a G and there's still room on the war wagon if anyone wants to hop on. Open invite.

We are the beyond the point of "If a grappler can't handle a striker, or striker can't handle a grappler" mentality. Most fighters learn to grapple and strike, and we should expect them to be competent in both areas.

Not every fighter is a title contender. The UFC is beginning to make this clearer. Bobby Green is a card filler. He should be given fights that match his style, and give him the maximum opportunity to entertain the fans.

Entertainment is more important than competition in combat sports. If Bobby Green had high fight IQ, he could turn the Dariush fight into a very boring affair. All he has to do is stay back, wait for the takedown, and use straight, quick punches i.e. Tyron Woodley vs Demian Maia.

I don't know why, but I'm going out on a limb and saying Bobby wins this.

Haven't seen much progress from Dariush since like 2016, but he should still beat the Bobby greens of the world. Dariush is a fun gatekeeper.
