I'm a big fan of Oliveira, but don't get carried away with the Beneil slander.

Charles was simply better last night.

Beneil had top position and was raining down on Charles, but I thought Oliveira stayed composed and did very well from the bottom. Dariush should've forced the issue and kept grappling, but he believed in his stand up, to his detriment, of course.

If these two fought 10 times, I think Beneil gets a few wins. He has no business standing with Oliveira and he could adjust his game plan.

Don't disrespect the beautiful Beneil Dariush.

Honestly looked like Beniel was aiming for a boring top control type win like he did against Tony.

Problem is Olives is a very scrambly bastard off bottom and you can't rest for even one second against him. On the feet their was a very huge speed discrepancy.

I don't think the issue was that he believed in his stand up, it was the fact that Charles didn't care for it. He rushed him because he didn't feel as though Dariush could harm him, and he was right.

Benny was uncomfortable and, after getting caught clean a few times, didn't really know what to do. I'm sure part of him regrets not panic wrestling as soon as Charles was unloading on him, but even that comes with the danger of getting caught in a guillotine. It was just a rough matchup since he had less tools to threaten Oliveira with.

Maybe Beneil wanted to make a statement instead of being "boring."

He should've remained boring.

This guy talked so much about being better than everyone else and this and that.. talked shit about Islam after the close fight with Volk saying he can do everything better. Then gets exposed like a novice. Embarrassing.

If you talk like you’re “that guy”, you better be, pal.

Dariush should fight TJ Grant and find out who is truly the most screwed potential contender <Lmaoo>

When Benny is pushed, his suspect cardio comes into play. He's still a good fighter. Unfortunately for him, Charles is better at everything than he is outside of TDD. Olives put the pressure on him the second the fight started and didn't relent even when he was on his back. The second he got back up, Charles poured it on. The outcome in this fight isn't an indictment of Benny's skill. Instead, it's another instance validating Oliveira's ability.

He's good, but he's not a contender. He could not hang with Gaethje, Poirier, probably not Fiziev, and DEFINITELY not Makhachev. Chandler is over-ranked, so maybe dariush hangs with chandler if he can withstand the initial onslaught.

I'll never understand why people get upset about a fighter being confident. What do you expect a fighter to say? I'm mediocre? I have no idea how I can beat that guy? Please do not put me in a cage with him?

Would you have thought more of him if he said "I can only win by a lucky punch", "I hope he slips on a banana peal on the way to the cage"?

The mental game is a huge part of any sport. One has to have the mentality that they are the baddest man on the planet and they can take both King Kong and Godzilla and a pride of lions at the same time. The fight game is not for the timid or those that question their abilities. Saying it out loud can help manifest the thoughts and mentality to action.

Dariush wasn’t winning the ground either. He didn’t land a single significant strike. All his punches were either blocked or hit the canvas. Charles hit him way more, attempted submissions and eventually got himself back up. Dariush didn’t do anything effective on the ground at all. He didn’t even take him down. That was a failed body lock throw by Charles. To his credit Beniel didn’t get caught in a submission or swept but there was no effective offence from him on the ground or standing. This fight was all Charles.

It's peel.
And don't come in here making sense. This is sher, bro.

Charles melts him 10/10 times. Dariush tried a boring, grind style but Charles is way too slippery on the ground and the striking/speed advantage was way too much. If Charles didn’t KO him, he probably would have subbed him.

Charles is an elite LW. Dariush is a top 5-7 guy but is not an elite fighter. There’s levels to this. Do Bronx is a championship level fighter

I like Dariush, last night to me showed the levels of very good and elite though. Charles is in the elite club
