Bendo retires from MMA after Bellator Beatdown (Joining Military) Nevermind BJPenn.com sucks

LMFAO Koreshkov beat his ass so hard he retired

not sure i believe that source, benson didnt say anything on his twitter about retiring

Wow, that sucks.

One of the best LWs of all time imo.

Like Dana says. If you're even thinking about it. It's time to go.

Best of luck in the future Benson.

Joining the military?

How fucking random is that.

WTF, the real headline is the joining the military part. WTF is going on??

Damn. I was hoping he would try for the LW belt in Bellator.

benson got beat by a russian and now hes retiring to join the military. true story

good luck sir

That's kind of ridiculous. But if he wants to be a military man, more power to him.

Wow that was quick. I bet bellators pissed that he didn't give lightweight a shot instead.

This is not related to his loss. He stated this last MMA hour before the fight. He always planned on retiring sometime before he turned 34 for military service, but he also more recently found out the military made exceptions to that age limit so he could possibly continue fighting even longer. This article and thread is clickbait.

When you get beat so bad that joining the army becomes your safest and quietest option.

He's 33, they might not even accept him. Apparently he graduated with a double major in justice and sociology. So he'd try to go in as an officer I assume. He would need a waiver.

Maybe it's for the best. Benson thinks that it is. I can respect that.

Cheers to a great career.

That is P4P the shittiest site on the internet.

Wow that was quick. I bet bellators pissed that he didn't give lightweight a shot instead.

Not as pissed as they would be if he went in there and destroyed Koreshkov and retired right after doing it lol.

As it stands if he retires I would think Bellator got good value out of him. His salary is expensive and they got ratings and boosted a star with only having to pay the salary once. Leaves money in the wallet for Rory at 170lbs.

Although if he was willing to cut to 155lbs there was still value in him, but if he was going to stick at 170lbs he would have been overpaid for a non-ppv format.
