Ben Rothwell the only person to utilize the gogo choke?

How exactly are his hands positioned? I cant tell

Something like that. Pushes the blade of his thumb or wrist area straight into the treachea (or gogo, which translates into adam's apple in Portuguese if I recall correctly) with an upwards twisting motion while applying extra pressure with the chest to the head.

Sounds painful. Im surprised they arent more common tbh. It seems like it would be a more natural hand position

It's just a 10 finger guillotine.

It's somewhat different from the 10 finger/double chinstrap choke. It's similar to a 5 finger guillotine actually, in that one hand is the point of contact on the throat, but in this case the other hand is working as a power assist grip on the wrist to help push it in.

The choking hand can be a closed fist or open grip depending on your preference, and it can be with no arm or arm-in.

Example of a closed fist on the choking arm.

Example of a open grip on the choking arm.

(For an arm-in variant, if you can get your assisting arm in deep enough, you can grip your own elbow on the far side with the assist arm, cinching the choke up as tight as possible.)

I personally call it a neckstrap choke, to differentiate it from a regular one handed chinstrap/half-nelson grip, and since it's more descriptive than 'gogo choke'.

What did Hughes choke out Ricardo Almeida with?

Elbow pressure from front headlock pushing their upper arm into their neck, aka Dave Schultz headlock/choke, aka farmaconda.
