I'm not saying Ben is not an excellent fighter but not finishing gsp or lawler is a bit different than finishing folks who aren't ranked.

Askren isnt fighting guys in the top 10, 20, or 30. Hendricks would finish every single fighter that askren fought cant say the same thing for askren going against Hendricks competition

Theres a difference between going the distance with the likes of Condit, GSP, Lawler and finishing guys who wouldn't even be ranked in the top 20 on their best day. Even then against medicore competition Askren struggles to finish fights.

Askren is still a decent fighter though.

"cardboard box" Billy (no known last name) has a higher finishing rate than Askren. His fights can be found on a bootleg Bumfights. And he didn't even have to go to Asia.

Unless something silly like quality of opponents is factored in.

It's funny how barely anybody mentioned Askren even when he was the Bellator champ. But suddenly there are all these die-hard Askren fans once the UFC didn't sign him. MAybe all the public bashing he did of the organization didn't help? But where were all his fans before talking about hopefully the UFC can outbid Bellator when his contract comes up or talking about the great fights he puts on? I'm sure he had some fans but for a lot I suspect it has become fashionable after-the-fact.

couldn't stand askren until i saw his last fight. getting rejected by ufc and all the criticism seems to have made him a bit pissed/meaner. starting to look like a real fighter even though his opponent was overmatched.
