This isn't as ridiculous as you think. If you don't have Fight Pass, Conor's had one televised on FS 1. This was on the first day of that network when a lot of people probably didn't even know they had it. Plus, it was on the prelims so even if you knew you had the network and knew about the card, you maybe only watched the main card because you didn't want to spend 5 hours watching MMA.

Right. The guy has never really been on TV or ppv LOL.. Connor who?? He's a Sherdog creation. I hope it works out for him and I respect him as a fighter.

Since the entire mma community is hyping this kid up.

Yeah sure, thats why just today just the mention of McGregor at the 181 press conference sent the crowd into a frenzy.

But right, only a few people on sherdog know who he is.

If you dont think he's the hottest thing in mma right now you arent paying attention.

I don't know about the USA or Canada, but in Argentina Bellator is in Fox Sports now and UFC is... nowhere.

So I can see Bellator getting more popular if it continues this way.

I don't subscribe to Fight Pass, and from looking at his record, he's had all of 3 fights in the UFC, and the only card of those I saw was the Shogun and Overeem fights on the FS1 debut where he was on the prelims (which I never watch).

If it wasn't for UFC buying ad space on tonight's Bellator card, I would not have been able to pick him out of a crowd anymore than I would some other random UFC fighter that has had more prelim fights than main card bouts.

And I don't follow Cage Warriors or wherever he started out so it's not like I watched him come up like I did with some of the DREAM or SF guys now in the UFC.

I don't know why you find it so hard to believe that a fighter who's had one main card UFC fight which was aired exclusively on a subscription broadcast isn't as popular or well known as you'd like him to be.

We don't all eat, sleep and breathe MMA. Diversified hobbies is a good thing in life.

I may not have the scoop on the next great fighter from CFWACC out of Burma or wherever, but I'm fine with that.

Also, the UFC has SO many good fighters that it can be overwhelming to follow them all if you are night a hardcore fan. Bellator has key guys that you know (Eddie, Chandler, Alexander, etc)

And what also helps is that I watch Bellator all on one network whereas UFC has their shit spread out all over the place.

What do you mean? Bjorn doesnt own Spike tv or the ad space, Bellator runs promos on FS1 or FX and UFC runs promos on SPike. thats been going on for years.

They are targeting the same demo, the networks and markets are responsible for the ads not the orgs.

On the real though, CC's obsession with this dude is kind of creepy.

The fact he feels it's implausible that MMA fans don't know a guy who's been a prelim fighter most of his UFC career= some serious Stan behavior on his end.
