One of my favorite things about Bellator is cross promoting events. If they did sell and that stopped I have more of a reason to not care about Bellator……..

I hope its not being aborsbed by another promotion (UFC/PFL/ONE) and its more along the lines of a middle east investment or an AEW/Bellator kind if thing similar to WWE/UFC.
Why not? I think Bellator getting absorbed is the best case scenario. How exciting would it be if next year all of Bellator’s top dude are fighting in the PFL tournament or challenging ONEFC’s champs for the belt
ONE barely has all their current guys fighting, adding a hundred more would be disastrousConsidering Bellator probably has 2x the roster depth and high level talent of PFL currently, PFL would have to change their entire platform if they planned to merge. OneFC has less MMA talent than even the PFL and Considering their market, I don't think they're looking to sign a bunch of Western fighters.

You are describing a co-promotion of champ vs champ between Bellator and PFL or ONE. Which would be fun as a once a year event but think about it, there arent many thrilling matches in a co-promotion. I guess Pitbull vs Loughnane and Kayla vs Cyborg are interesting, but I give 0 fucks about Amosov vs Sy, OAM vs Usman, or Nemkov vs Wilkinson. Plus, I dont think neither PFL nor ONE seem to have the infrastructure to abosrb Bellator and add 15-18 events a year. Why not? I think Bellator getting absorbed is the best case scenario. My man, PFL is probably losing way more money than Bellator is. Its not like they have a lot of money to throw around. As it is, they are barely surviving with 10 events a year, and they had to pay Jake Paul with equity just to have him promote them.PFL has enough money to buy bellator via loans. The problem is bellator doesnt make any money so its going to be a money pit unless pfl has a way of recouping. With UFC's espn deal running out a combined PFL/bellator could look like an attractive alternative for espn if UFC leaves.
the only other buyer would be an oil sheik.
Now that paramount has combate global they have no use for the b leagues.
PFL needs to pay Ngannou millions to fight Maurice GreenMy man, PFL is probably losing way more money than Bellator is. Its not like they have a lot of money to throw around. why would someone want to buy something that isn't profitable? The UFC was sold and is certainly worth a good amount of money. People sell things that are very much valuable, which is why people make things in the first place. The WWE was just sold and it is plenty profitable. Its Déjà vu all over again. Oh yeah thats right Ariel was the first to spread this bullshit rumor back around late December while Bellator is still going strong 4 months later and continues to be profitable. People sell MMA Orgs that are deep in the red bleeding money nobody sells an Org thats not the red and has been profitable for consecutive years.
Because of the talent under contract. Unlike say PFL Bellator's problem isn't that it doesn't have a roster capable of competing with the UFC in the same way AEW competes with WWE, it's that they've built that while putting no money into promoting or marketing it so nobody cares. If someone bought the roster they'd be starting in a much better position than anybody starting from scratch. Maybe that buyer has a different, better approach at making people care. Very tall task, but who knows. We've seen PFL start from basically scratch and it's roster is still very weak comparatively.why would someone want to buy something that isn't profitable? I dont know why people talk like Bellator is this bastion of profitability. Its first profitable year was like 3 years ago. Was it even profitable last year and if so...by how much?
People on here talk like every business is a mom and pop convenient store. No one cares if a company is a bit profitable lol, that isn't Bellator's value to CBS or likely anyone else who is going to purchase Bellator. Bellator is just cheap content to produce, Viacom did not buy Bellator to make a buck.
I'd love to see Bellator purchased by someone who will be completely invested in growing/promoting the product. As many have said here Bellator is just content filler in a huge portfolio of products in Viacom. I think Coker has done great last couple year with building the roster and I'm a big fan of the grand prix. Build a streaming network where you can access the entire Bellator library of fights and do a showtime style build of title & grand prix fights.Because of the talent under contract. I'd love for them to go somewhere in the GTA. I'm in Halifax but the flights there are so cheap now a days with the ultra cheap airlines and I have so many people I could stay with for free. I'd go for sure.I'm not surprised at all at this news. Coker said he would come back to Canada and never has under his reign so WTF Scott? I gotta drive down to Mohegan Sun all the time instead of just going to Toronto.
Luke Thomas affirmed things are going on during his Thursday live chat. I forget his exact wording, but it sounded like a possible sale could be in the worksIts Déjà vu all over again.
