Bellator changes business direction ........ AGAIN

I don't like the move away from Friday nights. Bellator has built up their own little thing on Fridays. Casuals know Bellator is on spike on Fridays. I don't see the point in going to Saturdays. But I guess Coker sees this as a Strikeforce 2.0. The only problem Scott is that in 2010-11, the UFC wasn't running 300 events a year. There was room for more mma. Now there isn't. If you make these fans pick between Bellator and UFC, they're gonna pick the UFC everytime.

I don't like less Bellator cards. I'd rather have fights once per week than once per month. If they are moving away from Friday night to Saturday night where they will compete with the UFC they are going to be in serious trouble. They'll lose my live viewing at least.

1 show a month? Thats great. I love watching bellator frequently, but a show of month will yield better cards.

I thought it was 16 events?

12 TV + 4 PPV

Yeah, I kinda preferred separate days, too.

yep, but currently Bellator will never raise the rating up because they compete against smackdown (expect Smackdow change to thursday according the rumours)
Plus UFC some weekends to make events in europe or asia and they wont overlap the schedule, and another times in brasil by UFC Fight Pass (this only UFC fanboys watch them)

I don't want to see Bellator on here.

The Friday theory is a nice theory but the times they've run Saturday on Spike, they've done considerably better. If they start the shows at 8pm, they'll get a jump on UFC shows and probably take away some of their audience.

I think it's a good move. They could air preview specials on Fridays for the fans that are used to seeing MMA on Fridays.

They are stopping Friday shows two weeks earlier than previously announced. Which means they canceled two shows. Doesn't seem very radical to me. Or a change of direction.

This.

Having Tito v Bonnar as the big kick off.. With Bonnar still listed on the UFC roster on their site.. It all seems dumb to me. But maybe it will work. The UFC has profited off dumb moves before, so we'll just have to wait and see... I guess.

I liked Thursday nights and tournaments. I would also like Friday and/or Saturday nights and some tournaments. I don't know if I like Tito v Bonnar on Saturday nights, with respect to those guys as fighters. UFC cards still make 90% of Bellator cards look really bad, don't think they should be "competing" just yet.. Having tournaments made the fights seem better and the roster seem better, without them you better get some star power quick.

I'm disappointed. I loved their weekly shows. But I understand. Having the weekly shows made for some very watered down cards that a casual fan probably couldn't get into. Having a monthly show they can always have a pretty big name on the card to bring in the casuals.

To me, the bellator advantage was tournaments and knowing when/where it will be on without the work of trying to follow it like ufc

I honestly dont care about bellator as much as i did before. I like the pro wrestling antics before though

may have missed it. Will the random shows still be on Friday's?
