PBP Bellator 301: Amosov vs. Jackson

Don’t get me wrong Jackson is a fine fighter who I think would probably do well in the UFC and hover in the bottom half of the top 15 after tonight. It’s more of people saying outlandish things about Amosov before he’d beaten anyone resembling an elite fighter.

I mean there were people on the dog saying Amosov runs through Usman, Colby, Leon etc. lol

Gotta push back on this a little. Colby's last win over a non-retired fighter was 5 years ago against RDA. And I don't see his wrestling being effective against Amasov, a multiple time sambo champion.

Valid point when talking about Colby but I don't see Amosov beating or really being super competitive vs the Colby that lost vs Usman in the 2nd fight. Is Colby still at that level? That remains to be seen but we'll find out when he fights leon. I've just never seen anything from Amosov that screams out world beater

Fitting end for Bellator. Last card and their 27-0 champ not only loses but gets destroyed by Jason fucking Jackson. Only way this ending could have been "more Bellator" is if the fight ended with a weird DQ/NC.
People will never be happy with Bellator, Jason Jackson has a great underdog finish in a pretty good bout, that is still seen as a negative. If Amosov had dominated, people would moan about that as well. No win situation.

Its a bit unfair.

Usman loses to the unheralded Leon who didn't have a top 5 win: "Leon is the best fighter in the world"

Amosov loses to a guy who beat Douglas Lima as impressively as he did: "Amasov isn't that good"

Jason Jackson should get the same credit that Leon did. He's easily won all his Bellator fights except his debut which he barely lost by split decision.
