Did some fights get cancelled? Dmytrii Hrytsenko and Loranny Santos are gone from the PBP.

If you miss weight you can't retain or win the belt. That way if the champ misses, the challenger can still win the belt.
Otherwise you end up with the challenger potentially beating the champ, but no belt being on the line.

It will count as a title defence this way instead of just a fight as it has happened in the past.
Nope, it hasnt happened in the past, the closest thing was Sonnen vs Filho (or someone) back in WEC, the champion missed weight and they didnt stripped him, neither they gave Sonnen the chance to win the belt, for some reason, other than that, this hasnt happened, IF the challenger misses weight it becomes a non title fight, this has happened in the UFC, or at least has happened for vacant belts, only who made weight can win the belt, and it has happened that the champ misses weight, Oliveira got stripped and the title went vacant as he won....but Carmouche made weight and the challenger didnt, it shouldnt be "for the belt".

PS: I missread your post, yes, non title fights have happened in the past, champion defending against someone that missed weight hasnt, and i doubt it ever happens again, this is a fuck up.

Doesnt work like that when there is a champion, fight becomes a non title fight, champion remains champion no matter what, that only sort of applies with vacant titles, or when the champion is the one missing weight, the champion loses its belt at the scale, but the challenger can still win it, here the champion made weight and the challenger didnt.
ok thanks for corrrecting me i was thinking of Oliveira vs Gaethje but forgot it was vacant

When Chael fought Filho, Filho missed weight screwing Chael out of his chance at winning the belt. Filho said he would give Chael the belt anyway but didn't do it right away like he was suppossed to probably because he was apparently seeing ghosts that night or whatever the fuck was wrong with him but eventually he did the right thing and sent the belt to Chael.

You have to give the girl with J cup breasts a slight break when it comes to weight.
natty tiddy meat should be measured by me and calculated by me so the weights are correct.
Joking*

Why people in the media (whoever this is) dont know the most basic rules of combat sports sanctioning?? Or who green light this?? Challenger misses weight, champion cant lose the belt as they are not fighting a flyweight...its a catchweight fight, its a non title fight.

This reminds me on how the whole UFC staff of the weigh-in show were not sure what was happening when Oliveira missed weight, like its something so new or anything...champ misses weight, champ loses the belt, former champion wins, title goes vacant, challenger who made weight wins, they can still be the champion...yet bellator somehow fucked this.

PS: How did CSAC sanctioned this? Considering they are a decent AC when it comes to MMA.

Bellator knows they are done so don't care lol.

The missed weight for a 300 card...this fight...I can't imagine why Bellator is closing its doors.
