i was way into the tourneys that bellator did with BR.

Bellator was better when he was in charge. In pretty much every way.

I can't help but agree. These tournaments have really saved Bellator's ass recently though.

Tofiq is a better fighter in my opinion but that's what Sousa does, leaps on a submission, caught Tofiq early when they were dry. If there's a criticism of Tofiq it's that he can get a little wreckless and overzealous.

People forget how horrible Bellator has been before this recent stride.
Shamrock vs Gracie 4? It was so damn embarrassing for the sport.

Rebney did PFL's format better than PFL is doing imo.

Bellator was on a run of shit for the most part - some great fights and fun cards here or there - for the majority of the last 4-5 years.

Problem was it just became the same guys fighting over and over in a rigid structure

That's the problem with Bellator being so small at the time, then you mix it with the UFC who was actually into acquiring established fighters, and it just wasn't feasible for them to expand and flesh out the tournament format with new blood.

I've gotten back into it recently.

There was a ton of shit that drove me away from Coker's Bellator but the return to tourneys is welcomed. Even though the GP fights should all be on the same card like they usually were under Rebney.
