It's partially because they chose to go head to head with a UFC card which is absolute suicide ratings wise.

It blows my mind how many people think EFC is better than Bellator already though when Bellator has spent over a decade building a roster that at this point is very good. It's not the first example that shows the power of a banner's branding in MMA but it's certainly one worth noting.

Oh no doubt I merely chose it to show the flow of interest, activity and access (paywalls).

I watch orgs far far down the line and give Bellator decent praise and quite enjoy their show. But if interest here is any reflection...

I think it's a pretty good reflection. Bellator cards that run unopposed on Friday have similar #s to the EFC card, but when they run on Saturday the same time as a UFC card the numbers are shockingly bad. If I was an exec from Bellator/Viacom and I saw those numbers I'd be worried.

Bellator are pretty shit at promoting. It seems amazing that EFC are getting this much interest when you have to sign up to an app to watch it.

It's crazy to me how shit Bellator are at promoting. I'm kind of hoping they sell Bellator to someone who's going to do a better, more aggressive job of getting people to watch it. Tons of money is going into trying to get MMA promotions off the ground right now and Bellator is just sitting there with an awesome roster they aren't willing to heavily promote.

I think EFC is a fresh brand that's doing a good job right now and having Khabib as the public face is huge. People will tune in just because Khabib is part of it.

App is free tho, so it's much less in the way then signing up for Showtime and paying.
