Hate to constantly repeat myself, but I feel like streaming is taking a more and more prominent toll on cable. More and more people are electing to stream content as opposed to good old fashioned cable. I mean Netflix announced a block buster 4th quarter for 2017 from what I’ve read. Added something like 8m new subscribers.Hard to even offer an answer of what they can do.
Is the push of womans MMA a factor would you guys say?

Also, Bellator launched their new app where you could stream through there as well. Not say a ton of people are streaming through the app, but it can only hurt tv numbers.
yeah i streamed it through paramount. what the tv ratings still can be used for while misleading, is as a comparison to other tv ratings like against the UFC or against other sports. as a whole though they shouldn't have as much weight as they used to.Hate to constantly repeat myself, but I feel like streaming is taking a more and more prominent toll on cable. yeah. I'm curious what the numbers would look like if they had a way to factor in legal and illegal streams rather than the standard cable estimates based on sample householdsYup, that's the big issue. TV is being relaced by streaming. Also, illegal stream numbers aren't traceable, so it's hard to tell how those numbers look.
I also would like to see an MMA org go on Netflix or Amazon Prime. The future is in a product like Sling TV, Sony, or Direct TV streaming. When they offer smaller, more selectable packages cable will be cut as we know it. And once fiber optic and 5G is available to all, its the final nail in cable's coffin. They can go join Blockbuster.Hate to constantly repeat myself, but I feel like streaming is taking a more and more prominent toll on cable. I may be in the minority, but i dont mind smaller cards with names an org attempts an org attempts to build up. think you are partially right. Streaming is gaining on on tv. people arent slaves to their tv they way it was in the past. a couple of decades ago if you missed your favorite show, sorry, you missed it. now, people could watch anything and everything on demand. you dont even need to be at home anymore. this is one of many things streams have over cable. if youre watching content through youtube tv, sling, netflix, you could be watching on your phone from where ever you are. you dont have this luxury, if you are watching through cable. It's just the evolution of any sport and your seeing it in MMA right now.
The shock and awe of MMA has worn off. Two guys fighting in a cage doesn't just draw in people regardless. The fans of the sport and even fringe fans have been educated over the years to what they are watching. Simply put, fans aren't tuning in to crap cards anymore like they may have in the past just because its the UFC or whatever. They become educated enough to know what the quality/name value of what they are watching. Put on a so-so card on paper and it will fail just like the last UFC FOX event or just like the last Bellator card. The NFL see's this weekly with its match ups.
Hopefully with the new UFC TV deal it changes the quality of cards we have been getting. Hopefully, Bellator figures out they don't need to try to run 20 shows a year just because. In Bellator's case if they want that many cards then reorganize yourself and give the fans 10 to 12 good stacked events and run other 10 to 12 events or whatever as like a Bellator Challengers series. Separate the two products on some level.
YUP, cant deny Streaming presence anymore.I also would like to see an MMA org go on Netflix or Amazon Prime. The future is in a product like Sling TV, Sony, or Direct TV streaming. I would say Coker has made bellator irrelevant.
Before with the tournaments the product was atleast relevant but now who wants to spend their friday nights watching joe shmo vs joe shmo.
besides the few cricus and novelty fights whats the point of watching bellator?
Sling TV has Paramount. You can pay $20 or $25 for their base packages then another $5 for Paramount which comes with some bullshit channels like MTV and some other junk. I watched Sonnen vs Paige the other night.YUP, cant deny Streaming presence anymore.
i was actually looking into youtube tv, but they didnt seem to have paramount on there. i would love to buy a package that included fox and paramount, but idk if that will happen.

this is the story i keep mentioning
record breaking numbers from netflix. adding a total of 8.33m new subscribers in spite of the fact that they raised prices on nearly all of their packages.

Direct TV Now's $35 package is basically the go to for MMA fans.YUP, cant deny Streaming presence anymore.
