I feel we as fans deserve that treatment for Belal.

It's because Belal made him make it that way.

Wait until the Merab/O'Malley fight. If you thought Conor was able to get away with illegal stuff in the Khabib fight, O'Malley will get a free pass on whatever he wants to do. They don't want Merab near the title if they can help it. Guys like Merab and Belal are bad for business. Both are great fighters but have boring styles and Belal has negative charisma.
