anyone know anything about it? or train it? thats the style my gym trains in and was just wondering how its viewed in the jiujitsu world.

Here is a good read. Pedro Alberto said in an interview with On the Mat that the Behring family was just as instrumental, if not more so, than the Gracie family in spreading jiu-jitsu around Brazil. Good Jiu Jitsu. Your training should be legit and y'all should feel very lucky.

I train at a Behring affiliated school as my coach got his BB from Sylvio Behring. This team has produced many world champions such as Mario Reis, Fabricio Werdum, and marcio corleta.
