Some fighters never reach gold and others do, and following their careers its obvious its more important to certain fighters to at least have reached the top just once.
And as a fan you sympathize with some fighters to make it, even if its just for one fight.
A couple who made it:
Cormier. Im not sure he´ll ever beat jones, but I was glad he found a way to the title.
Hendricks. Got a bad rep nowadays, but after the StPierre-fight I really wanted him to get another chance.
Lawler. After a long career he finally reached gold, was well deserved.
Some that hasn't yet:
Gustafsson. He was so close two times, would really like to see him wear it once.
Benavidez. Tried at 135 and came up short, tried at 125 and came up short. And now it might be too late, but if MM moves up he might still have a chance.
And of course there are some that never did.
Chris Lytle comes to mind.
With fighters do you want to see have the title before their careers are over?
