Is it just me or has the quality of beef jerky gone down pretty much across the board?

I was at wal mart the other day and every brand was these tiny little shreds of beef. I remember when I was a kid, it would be big pieces.

Oh and lol at Sweet Baby Rays jerky... they may as well call it Bacon Bits because thats what it looks like.

There's a beef jerky store near where i used to live, and they had the G.O.A.T jerky.

1st time i went there i must have sampled about 20 of em, felt kinda bad when i just bought a soda. But hey, they let me sample that many... i didn't want any more.

I did go back though, their Carolina reaper jerky was amazing.

Best types are from those jerky/bbq/hot sauce stores you see around. I’ll eat basically any type of jerky.

I’m jealous of the people up in Northern California they make their own native Indian style layed out ... I drove up to mammoth last year and on the way this little shack was selling the best beef jerkey I ever had.

Make your own in the oven. Store bought jerky is bullshit. I've found two brands that I like and I can only buy them at two gas stations 150 miles apart in North Carolina.

It's way too easy and cheap to make sure to waste your money on that bullhockey.

Better yet, make it in a smoker.

Man... That place has thrived for over a decade now. Venison, elk, bison, gator, beef, ostrich. Keep prices reasonable and u think you're in business.

I sell my homemade stuff at work and take it in but its so time consuming

Many asian stores have great jerky (pork and some beef). Their flavors are more interesting than the standard stuff at the grocery stores.

I think brand name jerky is bullshit anymore, especially for the price. There is a butcher/meat locker though by my parents house that makes great jerky/smokies. I only get back that way 3 or 4 times a year but I always make sure to grab a couple pounds to bring back with me.

But a few months ago before christmas I ordered a box of 12 beef jerky packets from Amazon and I was very impressed, it arrived quick and the jerky was of good quality.

Take a look on Amazon, there is some good beef jerky on there for a good price.
