German touches the Baltic sea. NOT landlocked they actually have a decent size coast line
oh cmon bro. You know what I mean. The Baltic Sea doesn’t mean squat geopolitically and in the broader sense, economically or militarily, especially 100+ years ago.
We’re talking global power super power stuff.
Germany didn’t have free and clear access to the oceans (Atlantic, pacific), and the outlets that they’d provide to the “East” much less the “New World.”
There were other maritime powers like Spain, Portugal, the North African states, and later the Netherlands, Britain, and France (partially through private companies) who had supremacy of the seas
Germany/the states that would comprise Germany, never had supremacy of the seas or an outlet to the seas. This is historical fact.
