I deal with them at least once/twice a week. Have a mom, 2 cubs, & 2 teenage bears that have been staying near my house this year. I have a giant mulberry tree that they come eat from a lot.
Growing up around these fuckers I’ve had lots of close encounters. The scariest one was when I was walking home from work as a teen and and a mom fell off a branch, just missing landing on my head, and her body dragged down my back. There were cubs in the tree and I didn’t see any of them because it was dark. I definitely about shit my pants.
Here’s some recent pics from the past few months. My cat keeps trying to make friends with one of them. First time I saw her she was like 2 ft away. I ran out and snatched her up.

I accidentally snuck up on one while bird hunting when I was 20yrs old. Was less than 10' away when it sat up. Glad it didn't charge like the one in the video.I deal with them at least once/twice a week. Have a mom, 2 cubs, & 2 teenage bears that have been staying near my house this year. At that point he was just trying to deter the bear. Even if he stuck it with a fatal shot, at that distance, the bear would have put a serious hurting on him before it passed.Nothing like having an arrow primed and ready to shoot.
Just to take it out and start trying to poke with it...

Wild animals are.... wild and unpredictable. The fuck did the guy do to piss the bear off? Seen a few black bears an they never bother people as long as you leave em alone.
No, pretty sure they don't sell recurve bows at Toys r us.Did that guy seriously try to hunt a bear with a bow and arrow from Toys R Us?

My guess is the bear was startled by his presence, and lashed out, out of fear.
