Based Alex Pereira DESTROYS boring jotko

Pereiras whole mma career will be based around avoiding grapplers that can actually wrestle

Worked for Conor most of his career. The UFC knows what they're doing. They want that Adesanya matchup desperately.

I don't know what "based" means. Sound like a coke/crackhead free basing or some shit.
In my experience it usually means to express an opinion that is offensive or unpopular, usually with a small amount of irony by either the person saying the opinion or the person calling said opinion based.

It’s a very popular saying in meme culture and also exists in chan culture.

That's part of Jotko's complaint. According to him, he had agreed to fight Alex on that date and says Alex picked Silva instead and is avoiding grapplers, then Alex says he never heard of Jotko, and admitted to avoiding grapplers.

I highly doubt Alex is afraid of Jotko, but there's 100 good reasons Alex shouldn't fight him, and Alex gave like the ONLY bad reason instead

I've got no problem with him being honest. And if I were him (or the UFC) I'd avoid matching him up with anyone with good TDs too. He's 34 and his shelf life is limited. Silva is actually a way more dangerous matchup for him to be honest. He doesn't have the pedigree, but the dude is KO machine with a ton of power. And as we've seen with talented kickboxers towards the end of their careers, like Saki, that pedigree doesn't mean a whole lot at a certain point. This fight will either catapult him within a fight of a title shot, or he'll be done with MMA with a KO loss.

Silva is dangerous, but he's not on the same level as Alex. Periera by KO in the 1st.

It's impossible to say that at this point. He's wild an reckless, but Periera hasn't shown anything against a fighter like him in MMA yet. I could see a KO by either guy. It'll be fireworks either way, which is what they both seem to want.

"Well, I never heard of this dude, but my manager talked to me and we reached the conclusion that he would be a boring opponent. Why would I fight a guy who only stars in boring fights? A veteran with almost 40 fights and no ranking? Will try to hold on to me the whole time. I want an opponent who gives a show , not a girfriend, becuase I'm already a married man.

And he comes desperately calling me a clown? If I had his fight style, I would find another job... maybe at the circus."

If I had his fight style, I would find another jo- *ACK*

"This guy is supposed to beat Izzy?"
Yeah because having grappling as a weakness is a big problem against Adesanya.
<EdgyBrah>
Pereira would probably have a harder time against Vettori and Brunson than Adesanya
He would sadly lose against those two but if he's given time he would defend their takedowns training with glover a bigger and better Brunson plus being taller and stronger than Izzy

So, just like Conors career? izzys? And now O’Malley and every other striker hype train on the come up..UFC carefully cherry picks their opponents to avoid stylistic problems. Ironically even Khabib avoided grapplers in his run the last few years, all his ranked wins are strikers he could rag doll. Nobody wants to fight a grappler and risk getting out grinded to a decision L, or get tired and submitted.

theres no way in hell Silva is going to box with Alex. actual suicide

He's going to stand and throw with Alex. My guess is he will try to crowd him to get rid of his kicking range. Then look for the KO.

Running away from grapplers…SCRUB

This guy is supposed to beat Izzy?

Adesanya was fighting future title contenders in his second UFC fight.
This guy is supposed to beat Izzy? He already did lmao

Here we go again with the "wrestling is boring" crowd. Sorry guys, this is MMA, everything goes. If wrestling is boring then you should consider moving to another sport. That goes for Alex as well, he should stick to kickboxing if he's gonna refuse wrestler matchups.

Prospects with high value and entertainment value get a pass for atleast 2 years. I love the sanctity of mma and how much people want to keep it close to their martial Arts chest but end of the day this is a show and these fighters are prize fighters and fight for the entertainment industry
