I was listening to my buddies ipod where he has Bas Rutens MMA and Tai Boxing workout. I was wondering if this is a good thing to listen to for a cardio workout and what does he mean when he says the numbers like 4!! 2!!!?

Thanks

The all around fighting is really good for cardio in my opinion. I use all of the workouts but focus on form as well. After a while, you get a little burned out on them and need a break. If you really want a challenge, throw in burpees in the one minute break.

1 = jab
2 = jab, right cross
3 = jab, right cross, left hook
4 = jab, right cross, left hook, right hook
defense = sprawl

After a while you'll start motherfuckering at Bas when you hear "defense!" immediately after getting up off the floor for the 30th time...

on the Thai boxsing and all round fighting CD, you must throw a knee or kick after each punch combination. Throw the opposite of the last punch you threw, ex if you did a 3 (jab, straight, L hook) then throw a right knee or kick because you eneded with the left.

The kicks will do you in if you arent careful.

Edit; and yeah, you'll be motherfucking the guy by round 4

I seem to gravitate more towards knees after a few rounds :) It must just be because I love knees, and not at all because getting a kick in after is taxing as hell.
