Bas Rutten Has A Message for PED Users

LOL@ Bas Rutten claiming he was never on steroids...

Young Bas: Metrosexual looking guy with a full head of hair.

MMA Bas: Muscled up, balded guy (alopecia - male pattern baldness: Classic indication of DHT buildup due to Testosterone usage).

Are you implying it isn't possible to put on muscle as you age without steroids?

I believe Bas was clean. And I believe if he wasn't that he would have come out and admitted to it later in life. If you've ever heard him during an interview he seems very truthful and honest. Just my opinion obviously.

Lol

I was built like young Bas when I was 16.

Around 18 my hair started falling out.

Then I started working out like a lunatic for the next 10 years and it really started falling out but I got big, bigger than Bas at his prime.

Of course then I had kids and now I look like Bas with a spare tire but I never juiced.

Bigger and as ripped as Bas? Or simply big?

There are many people who are bigger than Bas naturally, but they're not bigger AND ripped.

When your predisposed to male pattern baldness and you work out, your body naturally produces more testosterone which results in faster hair loss.

You're absolutely right. The increased Testosterone, which lead to an increase DHT conversion, accelerated the hair loss.

You don't have to juice to lose your hair

Correct.

or get big.

Get big (fat + water + some muscle) = possible naturally.

Get big (low body fat + tons of muscles) = impossible without taking hormones.

PED's do help you get big and lose your hair and get big but hair loss and muscle growth don't always equal steroids.

If you look at one of the pictures of young Bas when he has a lean built, that's the kind of muscles people can put on naturally.

This, however, is not natural (he's even got that HGH gut going):

Ken Shamrock, Chris Leben, Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett all have great heads of hair and have been popped for juicing.

According to your logic, they don't juice because they have hair.

Since you seem to be a bit more intelligent than some of the other delusional posters, I'm going to explain it again:

1. Steroid + bald gene ==> muscle hypertrophy + hair loss
(Examples: Bas Rutten, Hector Lombard)

2. Steroid + no bald gene ==> muscle hypertrophy, minimal or no hair loss
(Examples: Overeem, Barnett, Vitor, Sonnen)

In both cases, steroid induced muscle hypertrophy. However, it only induced hair loss for those who have the genetic predisposition for baldness.

Does everyone who smoke cigarettes will get lung cancer? No.
Only those who have the cancer genes who smoke will get cancer.

bas may have been on steroids, i dont dispute that as a possibility, but your argument is laughable.

Cortisone shots are not anabolic steroids. This is the only thing I've seen Bas admit to. smh. He blames those shots for his knee cartilage problems. Apparently took the shots as a kid for skin issues. (GIYF)

Keep living in your fantasy land, where "hard work and 'eating healthy'" will make you muscular like one of these guys :icon_chee:

Don't forget your monthly subscription to Muscle & Fitness and GNC membership. Remember to drink your protein shakes daily. You will be like those guys soon... :icon_chee

All you need is hard work! If you put your mind to it, you can do ANYTHING (you can even defy the law of biology, naturally of course, LOL!).

I agree. I don't any of these fighters, infact, the more they deny it, the more I think they used.

And lets not forget one thing there, Bas trained with and trained well known steroid users i.e. Mark Kerr!! if he was so opposed to roids why the feck would he train with these guys?? he's full of it.

Holy God, people want to hammer Bas. Anyone notice he pointed out that "If you sign the contract" that is when you "can't be doing steroids".

I'm not sure how that's him being a hypocrite. I'm also a little confused why people think you can't gain muscle with the kind of workouts Bas began to cultivate while no longer fighting regularly. He has talked in length about being a very weird and awkward young man, and how kickboxing changed his life. It's not unbelievable his build up would come later.

And as someone who was a very skinny kid. While not huge now, I'm able to pack on muscle more past the age of 30 because my metabolism has slowed and my eating habits have changed.

Ah yes those laws of biology that say that if you have the bald gene you cannot build muscle later in life right?

Thanks for those random magazine covers that have noting to do with Bas, all you're missing now is one of your shitty shoops with Bas' head on it and you can finish embarrassing yourself

Keep drinking those whey protein shakes from GNC you spent tons of money on. Don't forget "hard work" and "putting your mind to it." You'll be muscular in no time. :icon_chee

Bas just looks a little bit bulkier. His physique isn't that ridiculous

I have friends who have gone bald and I'm sure they're not on steroids.

Bas informed the commission the day of the fight he was taking pain killers. It's not like he told them months in advance that he was taking them and would be taking them the day of the fight.

Oh he had injuries welcome to every single fighter in the cage right now. It sucks that Bas had so many issues but cheating isn't the answer. Retiring from the sport is the answer.

So I don't think Bas gets a pass he knew he shouldn't be taking pain killers which is why he showed the commission. Showing them on fight day wasn't the way to handle it though doing it ahead of time is the way to do it.

Yes, putting every fighter with some nagging injuries out to pasture is the answer which gives the best results for competitors, fight fans and promoters, clearly.

Bas had retired from the sport as a consequence of his physical issues, and he did go back into retirement following this one-off fight. It's not like he it was a title fight or even a comeback trail fight, with a champ or top contender getting screwed by a roided has-been. It was a fun little event, and no-one was damaged by it.

And anyway, I hardly think it was "cheating", in the sense of juicing for your training camp or loading your gloves or some shit. Most rational adults (including Warpath, his opponent) would agree.

I'm not saying put them out to pasture don't be so dramatic. If you can't compete without taking illegal substances then you shouldn't compete anymore is that really a hard concept for you to understand? Are you really ok with some guys cheating because that's the only way they can compete?

No I wouldn't say it's on the level of juicing but it is a big advantage. Have you ever taken prescription pain killers? You feel damn good on those things and pain is hard to feel. So it's a big advantage in a fight. My whole point is I don't give him a pass regardless of the situation. Just like I don't give Royce a pass against Hughes which was a very similar situation.

That's correct: Not everyone who roids go bald. That person needs to have the genetic predisposition for it. That would be case #1.

1. Roid => muscular

Those who has the genetics for baldness and takes roids would fall under case #2:

2. Roid => muscular + baldness

And your Shakespear example is just simply an indication of your not understanding how it works: Someone who has the bald genes will go bald (but they don't get muscular).

3. No roid => baldness, minus the huge muscles

Didn't the same gullible people say the same thing about Overeem before he failed his test?

"Hard work and eating a 'healthy' diet?"

LOL! People just don't learn!

This is "working out and eating properly": Young Bas Rutten.

He got more muscular as he ages... his genetics must have kicked in as he got older... LOL! :icon_chee

I went bald and got big in my late 20's I went from 160 to 220 from working out and eating right - yeah you can do it with roids ... but why not be a man.
And look at him that's natural man, overeem wasn't, his muscles changed shape.. lookit Baz his arms are almost the same size.....
