This is one of those fights I have wanted to see a long time. Both are former UFC Heavyweight champions and fighters with vastly different career paths.

I feel a win determines a lot for each man. Better fighter, better legacy, better techniques, etc

I think it's a good match up for Arlovski, but I see him losing by KO again anyway.

Arlovski should win this fight convincingly.

JB 2nd round sub.....If Barnett loses this fight, I think it's time to call it a career.

Barnett, although sometimes inconsistent in performance, is a really good analyst. Previously, i'd give him 9/10 fights against AA. Now, i'm around 6/10.

Both guys could execute a perfect technique, and TKO the opponent, and also both could come out sloppy. The reason for slight advantage for Barnett lies in the questionable chin of AA. His timidness to exchange is really worrying at this point.

But yea, agreed with @Coconut Joe, both fighter should question their future in the sport if they lose to each other.

Arlovski by KO for me

I've been an Arlovski fan for many years but I've had to accept the fact that he can't beat anyone in the top 5. I think Barnett maybe could do that, so for the sake of further interesting match making I'm hoping for a Barnett win (I would bet money on him).

Arlovski could instead retire Gonzaga and Anthony Hamilton from the ufc in hopefully entertaing brawls.

Whats interesting about this fight to me is that it easily could have happened in the UFC 15 years ago.

i hope winner fights JDS (unless it's JDS vs Brock)

My Fight Advantage Breakdown

offensive striking: Arlovski
defensive striking: Barnett
clinch/takedowns: even
offensive grappling: Barnett
defensive grappling: even
experience/fight IQ: Barnett
athleticism: Arlovski

I assess both of their defensive grappling as MMA elite.

The fight IQ should go to Barnett, however, I did not like how he looked against Rothwell or Browne.

Unless Barnett comes out aggressive as shit, which is what AA usually has problems with, I fully expect Arlovski to beat the shit out of him standing

I like AA but Barnet will win pretty easily.

Barnett will totally own Arlovski. He can KO him, submitt him and decision him. Andreis only way to win is tko and it has to land hard and precise right on chin.

50/50 as it gets winner gets Brock in my opinion, AA can KO Barnett providing he isn't tentative but Barnett has the grappling tendencies to put AA at a standstill ala (Hunt/Brock). Barnett can use the threat of TD/Clinch to throw strikes more openly as AA won't TD Barnett.

Wouldn't be surprised if it goes to a decision in a slow, tentative fight or a quick AA 1st KO is the only options I envision. Come fight night anything can occur.

Arlovski probably wins, but I'm obviously hoping for a heel hook by the Warmaster.
