- The strategy was to be the same Edson Barboza that i am in the gym, my coaches know who is real and I think today I managed to drop a little more of this, I could do everything I trained. I realized that Pettis was frustrating, especially when he tried to get in my legs. When he tried to take me down I thought, "Oh, this fight is in my hand, he no longer knows what to do." Anthony is a changing table, I never saw him get into the leg of anyone when I saw that he tried to take the fight to the ground, I knew the fight was in my hand and that was just to keep track of all would work - he finished.

I never thought we'd see Pettis on the downfall this soon. Huge Barboza fan, but it's just weird.

3 straight losses for Pettis. Not what I was expecting out of someone on the Wheaties box...

Me & my friend thought the
same thing. Rogan noted it
as "keeping him honest".
Between elite kickboxers,
that would typically mean
a headkick..

Tried to pull a McGregor.

I was laughing when I seen Pettis shooting for the TD.
I yelled at the screen "Cmon Showtime Stand n Bang"

Pettis hasn't been the same since his loss to RDA.

Pettis supposedly wanted someone that would give him a "real fight" after his loss to Alvarez. Enjoyed watching Barboza school him standing and watching Pettis go for take downs.

I'm not gonna lie, when he first did it I was like. "Pettis just became a panic wrestler."

It's like Barboza like most people haven't seen Pettis fight.
He has gone for takedowns several times, and is a pretty decent wrestler. Excellent scrambler too.

Would Pettis had a better flow on his wrestling and a better incorporation of them on his gameplan (like he did in the first Benson fight), he could have torubled Edson a lot more. But it seems like his transition game is gone, and so are his dedication to footwork and set-ups. It's like he's only training very specific stuff, that doesn't have a ground to stand on.

This is Sherdog.

Now, any time someone who can strike tries to take someone down, they're a "panic wrestler", even if they're really good on the ground.
