Cruz has some tools that on paper seem like he could give Merab a good fight.

Cruz can go at a really high pace too, so if he does start to fade it will be at later rounds perhaps when he may have clinched a decision already. Cruz is also highly elusive and moves all around the ring, he would be very hard to cut off. Cruz also has good speed and wrestling, so youd need a quality entry to get far against him with wrestling.

If Umar couldn't deal with Merab's wrestling, I have no reason to think TJ could. Merab seems like the best of them. They can knock his entertainment value but neither O'Malley the sniper nor the Nurmagomedov wrestler nor Petr Yan could deal with his mix of pace, boxing, and takedowns
