According to Kevin he thought it was just light sparring. Pretty upset about it getting leaked.

Looked like Kevin was doing the right thing by telegraphing the knee with no intention of landing it, just practicing the technique.
You do NOT intentionally land flying knee's in sparring, its too dangerous.
I know this from professional experience.
Don't leave your career in the gym.

Those who say it was hard sparring due to big gloves:
Big gloves do not protect one's head from trauma, just protects the punchers hands.
I think sparring light in smaller gloves has the potential to reduce TBI/CTE to be honest.
Reduces the volume and willingness to firefight, encourages more correct movements and distance management.

I have sparred with guys like that. Sometimes they warn you ahead of time.

Sanchez was 100% in the wrong there, tried to hurt Sean knowing he had a fight coming up, and was known as a piece of shit by half the grappling community. He was almost booed out of the arena when he won his adcc medal.

I have grappled a long time, and while an arm wrench like that is incredibly effective and even an under used technique in MMA, it does not belong in a gym, never has, and never will.

Gyms didn't even train heel hooks for years for the same reason, the move has too much potential to permanently harm someone if one of the guys is careless or even if a simple everyday mistake is made. Hell, I've never, ever seen anyone try to do it in sparring/rolling outside of Orlando in my life.

This could've been hard sparring and Kevin was going just as hard seconds before. In the video it looks like the guy has all the time in the world to "not" throw such a hard punch, but that is easy for us to say.

If it was light sparring and it came out of nowhere, real asshole. I think the biggest problem is that someone uploads it online. Real dick move, what happens in the gym stays in the gym if nothing else is agreed on.

even if its hard sparring, theres no reason to blast the guy who is that vulnerable. the point isnt to knock the other guy out.
