Except, in my opinion, Marvel had the FAR better lead up to The Avengers with the solo efforts and One Shots. Marvel set the stage in a far superior way than D.C has and from the onset of D.C.'s decision to create their own universe always felt like it was catching up and with each step forward, they took 2-3 steps back with subpar attempts. You can say that Marvel has played it safe with its stories having comedic personalities first and foremost but they have stuck with a winning formula AND KEPT people interested throughout the phases for the big pay off in The Infinity Wars. For D.C., Wonder Woman was the first real interesting or at least consistent movie in their cinematic universe and what's that, 6 movies in? Marvel knocked it out of the park with their first with Iron Man.
The ear to ear grinning on the edge of your seat comic book fanboy has happened more consistently for me on the Marvel side of things. Elements of the D.C. side were done really well but their decisions (tv-verse Flash and Arrow and now their apparent desire to push out Batfleck) constantly leaves me scratching my head with the direction they are heading. I often wonder if they themselves know which direction they are heading.
I love Batman and we will always have The Dark Knight, Batman, Batman Returns and Batman Begins, but so far those are the best and most consistent D.C. adaptations of any character pre and current cinematic universe.
