Honestly thinking about it more I wouldn't mind if they kept the whole X-men\Avengers universe separate in general. Like permanently. To me it will just cause some confusion because it would be really unrealistic for the Avengers not to get involved during the Phoenix Saga.

They could have a clean slate after Avengers 4 if they really wanted to. Cosmic shenanigans and whatnot.

They could. Honestly they've done so well with the current movies that whatever they decide to do I have confidence they'll do it right.

A build up to a proper Galactus is what I'm anticipating most highly. We just had a villain with a God-complex, only way to top that is an actual God.

As some others have said, I think the X-Men films going forward will be relatively self-contained, kind of like the Guardians movies. I wouldn't be surprised if we see an Avengers film some time after the X-Men have been introduced that does not include them or any other mutants. Kind of like how Age of Ultron didn't include the Guardians. Then in another 10 years or so there will be the next big Infinty War style crossover movie, and that's when we get the Avengers / X-Men team-up. I'm curious to see how they do it. I expect at least a trilogy of X-Men films, and at least one more Deadpool film.

It's because there are seen as the next stage in human evolution, Homo-superior. Regular folk are worried they will violently overthrow human society and replace it with mutant society. Or that eventually so many mutants will be born that they outnumber the normal humans.

What I do think we might well see is Marvel introducing a new theme to link the MCU together pretty quickly post Thanos. What I suspect they'll want to avoid is IW feeling like too much of an ending that might risk viewers getting off the bus.

Galatus does seem the most obvious replacement and I could imagine him being introduced slowly though showing the after effects of the devastation caused. The idea of mutants on earth could be another I spose and you could argue the Avengers current position is already putting them more in conflict with the establishment.

What I think Marvel might be wary of though is simply people getting a little bored of the X-men, I mean we've had how many films now over the last 20 years? two versions of most of the characters as well. So far the MCU has depended quite heavily on the idea of introducing new characters/settings/plots in most films.

If they did introduce the X-men then I suspect they would try to put some kind of new spin on it rather than the same setup we've seen twice now. Maybe not focus on the Xavier/Magento conflict? perhaps Juggernaut as the main antagonist? at the extreme end perhaps even introduce individual characters and not the whole setting? at least at first.

If the X-Men are introduced in the MCU before Avengers 5, they'd have to include them. Age of Ultron not including the Guardians made sense because the Guardian were space travelers and the only link to Earth in the group hadn't been there since he was a child.

X-Men live on Earth and a villain that would demand the Avengers' attention would be threatening the world which would be something the X-Men couldn't ignore.

If they do introduce the X-Men in the MCU, they're going to have to explain what they were doing when Ultron was minutes away from eradicating mankind and during Thanos's fingerbang

Since Fox did the Phoenix Saga twice already I doubt we see it done again in the MCU.

Personally I'd like to see some mutants join the Avengers eventually.

they've waited this long to introduce Black Panther and Dr. Strange. I don't foresee them having any issue introducing the X-men. They could even shift focus to them instead of the Avengers to freshen up the movie output, and have the mutants interact with other Marvel properties not yet introduced (Fantastic Four, etc).

My thing is I really enjoy the X-men story lines. Sentinels, Phoenix Saga, and more. I don't want to see none of those done because they rushed to combine them with the Avengers.

Considering they seem to have the MCU mapped out already for a few years I doubt it happens any time soon. In the meantime we get some of their stories told first then they can throw them into the Avengers.

This is pretty much my dream scenario. Will see what they do.

I think we are just happy to finally get it under a studio that has been proven success in delivering comics sucessfully.

Xmen has their own universe so even MCU diving into that would be epic.

I dont see MCU throwing Xmen F4 right away with the avengers.

This, as we all know MCU isnt Warner Bros.

Theyll most likely introduce them in a later date

MCU already has Scarlet Witch with and Quicksilver in it. So it has mutants.

ah, must have missed that in the movies. That is kind of lame. Will be hard to make a House of M cinematic arc, if Scarlet Witch isn't Magneto's daughter. Le sigh
The Avengers movies after Avengers 4 will have the heroes fighting on a bigger cosmic scale. If it makes you feel better, she'll probably be one of the heavy hitters by then, along with Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel

Yea, last I really followed the comics was a few months status post House of M. At that point, she and Dr. Strange were 2 of the strongest in the universe.

I used to always think the movies, starting from the first X-men, including the Avengers movies, were based more off the ultimate universe. Now they been combining so many elements, and transitioned to the regular Marvel universe, that they are doing whatever. So who knows.

I could see the MCU throwing both some key Xmen and the F4 into a movie and including someone like Hulk to bring the familiarity.

A huge fight between Hulk and Thing where Thing gets beaten to a pulp but shows that ever loving blue eyed, giant heart of his could really endear fans to him and endear them to the F4. Wolvie mixed in, although he has no place in that fight, would also jazz the fans.

Yes as we all grew up too, i think having hulk appear in f4 or spidey appear in xmen would be op
