I didn't want to reply to the post because it felt rather trollish but that line did rustle me a bit LOL. Strange was strong. The guy took on Thanos without a stone for a while.

I think it's just a matter of they can't figure out a way to properly have him not win. Black widow can't always be there to try to calm him or someone with some kind of magic/chemical sleeping potion or whatever, so now he's just easily KO-able when needed to steer the plot

Because Ebony Maw is badass as well. And he battle pretty well one on one against Thanos.

Plus even Strange is still improving. He just became Sorcerer (Supreme). Apparently he got some solid practice in in the time loop against Dormammu but he still has some room to improve I'd imagine.

it wasnt trollinsh at all. i prefaced my first post by saying i dont follow this stuff. but i read in another thread how badass he was and he could beat superman, etc. then i see the movie and the first guy kicks his ass, then thanos gets the better of him. sure, he seems better than the regular guys in the movie, but i was led to believe (maybe mistakenly) that he was one of, if not the baddest dude around. then he loses every fight he is in in the movie

I feel you. I was kinda shocked to see him lose to Ebony Maw but again from what I read the Black Order is supposed to be crazy powerful as well and apparently Maw has controlled Strange before.

I thinm Strange is one of the most powerful but will still get stronger. Also the way they've portrayed him thus far he seems super strong offensively but also vulnerable.

Saw this again - did not pay for either showing (used my points).

Still think it is about a 7 or so.

I do like that it is a bit more dark (characters dying).

Also, I do think that spider man said "from the Fut . . . "

then got cut off.

Thor is a literal god... Not like loki , a frost giant baby god, but a literal god...so of course he should be way above and beyond everyone

Thor is ALSO a hybrid god as Odin got down with Earth’s elder goddess Gaea in the comics. Hence the reason Thor is a god among gods in Asgard and his strong affinity for Midgard (Earth).

Apparently Thanos is under the impression that the universe is a finite thing even with the Infinity Gauntlet at full power.

Yeah seriously. That sequence was badass. Thanos is using the infinity stones to fire at him and Strange is blocking and negating the attacks. That was really impressive I thought. Not to mention once Quill flips shit, everybody is taken out of play in short order except for Strange and Stark.

Very enjoyable. The ending made sense to me. It’s hard to surprise people when you know there is another sequel coming out.

I think they took he ending from the Onslaught arc. Richard Reeds son puts all the heroes in an another reality when Onslaught kills them. Not saying they will do that here since Fantastic 4 isn’t even part of it, but the idea that they might be alive in another reality makes sense.

On the technical side, very well done. Good action and surprised at the dramatic scenes. Some of Jose scenes got pretty emotional.

Just one question. Why didn’t Thanos use that move he used on Drax (where he cut him into little pieces) on everyone?

Because then the movie is fifteen minutes long with no fight scenes.

That's more a credit to the power of the Maw and Thanos than it is a knock against Strange. Look how all the Avengers in Wakanda got absolutely dummied by Thanos (aside from Thor of course who beasted out) and yet Strange and Stark were able to at least temporarily hang with him.

Only way the Avengers managed to take out the Ebony Maw was by gameplanning.

The Black Order in general was made to look really strong. Only one of them was taken out in a one on one without a coordinated effort.

I just saw a video about who is worthy to lift thors hammer and I believe I may have figured out who would be the one. I believe it would be the Black Widow because when they had the contest to lift thors hammer the only one who decided not to compete was the Black Widow. Hear me out when Vision picked up the hammer he did not take it away from thor he gave it back to him a selfless act and the hammer knew this of him he had no interest to abuse the power of the hammer. When Thor stepped up to take the full power of a suns energy to make the new hammer it went right back to him. Selflessness seems to be at least one of the determining factors in if your worthy. I wonder could this play into a future MCU movie if not Avengers 4 but a standalone film with Black Widow?

The question is in this video would thanos be able to lift thors hammer but that made me remember that Black Widow had no interest in lifting the hammer? Could she also become the new Thor like the comics did for a short time.

Well Mjolnir has been destroyed and likely won't come back since it has been replaced by Stormbreaker which is much more powerful.

The question is : Does the lift/worthy rule also apply to Stormbreaker or was that a unique characteristic of Mjolnir ?

In the MCU, I think only Odin can bestow that. In the Comics Odin had Stormbreaker made, not so in the MCU.

just watched it. its pretty good, but its still weird that some of these characters of varying strength can compete on fairly equal ground. like wouldnt a punch by thanos kill a normal human like buck rogers? i thought that dr strange guy was supposed to be a badass like able to beat everyone, but he was kind of a bitch. how can a kid like spiderman avoid dying relatively easily? everyone used to debate hulk and thor, but it seems obvious at least in this movie that thor is way above and beyong hulk and anyone else but thanos for that matter.

also the beginning was confusing. i didnt realize until googling some stuff that this picks up from the last thor movie

Spidey is quite strong. He is stronger than a normal human and stop a school bus in its tracks in CACW flashback. I think he even held up a truck or something.

Strange got marked by Ebony Maw but held up for a little against Thanos who had the gauntlet.

Unfortunately they aren't very consistent with her powers but I still don't know any MMA fighters that can do this.

Gamora is suppose to be superhumanly strong

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Off to a Blockbuster Start with $76 Million in China

“Avengers: Infinity War” has made a blockbuster start in China, the last major market to release the Disney-Marvel title.

By 10 p.m. Friday in China, the film had earned $66 million (RMB423 million) on its first full day of release, according to data from China Box Office. That gave it a 96% share of all cinema revenues in China that day.

The $66 million came on top of about $9.3 million earned in previews Thursday, according to Ent Group. That gives the superhero tentpole an estimated opening total of close to $76 million.

Disney reported pre-sales and midnight screening figures of $65.4 million for the three-day opening weekend. That is an all-time record for Disney in the Middle Kingdom.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” has the highest full opening-weekend score for the “Avengers” franchise with $156 million, which is also the fourth-highest opening score of any film released in China. “Monster Hunt 2,” released during the Chinese New Year holiday period in February this year, holds the all-time record with a $187 million start.

To the end of Wednesday, “Infinity War” had a global gross of $1.251 billion. That comprised earnings of $479 million in North America and $772 million in international markets.

The Marvel Comic Universe is already the biggest foreign movie franchise of all time in China, with a combined gross of $1.12 billion (RMB7.1 billion), ahead of “Fast & Furious” with $913 million (RMB5.8 billion) and “Transformers” with $834 million (RMB5.3 billion).

this is odd that China allowing this movie to be shown. They banned suicide squad for political reasons.

In Infinity War, the Heroes are fighting against population controls. That is something Chinese Commies have implemented.

But the heroes got Black Dwarf into the field by simply tying hulk buster arm drone to him, and flying him up there. That is inconsistent. If that little piece of the armor can do that, then the Hulkbuster should have been able to just toss Black Dwarf into space.

My only defense for this , is the Hulkbuster Armor being extremely dense and heavy so the Rocket tech on any of the parts would have been more thrust .
