you can do quite a lot with spinning led stripsFirst we had the Lightsaber-craze with Star Wars-Fans, then the Harry Potty-Wands, Dr Strange-Magic thingies would be the next step for business.
I disagree. His powers were more subtle and unique in the comic. And he made Strange look even weaker than he did in the movie. The way his arc ends is also better. Overall he was way more of a badass.MCU Maw>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Comic Book Maw![]()

That being said I really liked how he was depicted in the movie, and I don't really think his comic powers would have played a well on screen.
This might be a random comparison, but Ebony Maw and his screen adaptation reminds me of Saruman from the Lord of the Rings. Book Saruman and comic book Ebony Maw have essentially the same powers. Then in the film adaptations they are changed to have much more generic powers.
Yeah doing him like in the comic would have been a completely different movie. That was funny that he could have just easily caught Cull Obsidian but he dgaf.Agreed. His comic book powers wouldn't have worked in the movies. Telekinesis allowed him to stand and bang with heavyweights like Strange and Iron Man.
I loved the scene where Maw just swats aside Cull Obsidian after Iron Man blasts him![]()
I get the lost in translation from print to film...I also can suspend belief in many areas as it is was made to entertain the masses...but it doesn't hold a candle to Blade Runner as far as storytelling...![]()
Barely an 8 is still awesome, imo.

If we're comparing BR to IW then of course BR is the better story and by an enormous margin.
But for its genre, IW is as good as it gets.
Eh I don't even agree with that. I'm a huge sci-fi fan and I love stories about AI even more but both BR movies have nearly put me to sleep. They are beautiful film to look at but the story has always been so slow and just drags.
It is really important to watch the Director's Cut of BR1.
BR2... I can why people didn't enjoy it, I had a couple of issues with it myself, but they are both much deeper stories.
Batman and Robin only had 1 movie I thought? It is really important to watch the Director's Cut of BR1.

Yea I watched the Directors Cut. I heard people raving about the movies for a long time and I always enjoy sci-fi + AI that's my shit. These movies though were just ok. I mean they are not bad but I would never watch them again. The stories are probably deeper but I wouldn't consider them better.

Speaking of Cull Obsidian (Black Dwarf in the comic) I think the changes they made to this character were for the better. In the comic he's the least interesting of Thanos' generals, both in power set and personality. And he just spoke normally. For the movie I loved the sound design of his voice. I assume that was supposed to be his own language and not just him making random noises, but either way it sounded really cool I think and rather creepy as well. Other than that they didn't really change what he can do, but I think he was used better in the movie.
