I would have loved to see the same leeway from you with the Last Jedi.

Depends on what we vibe with it seems.

Liked the movie just didn't love it.. from my point a view a 7/10 is a fair score and I'm not deep into the MCU all things considered, I only have a little over a handful of movies that I do care to revisit.

Conversely, I'm surprised by you and Secret Agent's thoughts on this movie considering your opinions and defenses on TLJ.
I don't expect everyone to give the movie a 10 out of 10, and that's not what I'm trying to convince you of here, but your reasoning behind scoring the way that you did had nothing to do with what was actually seen in the movie. Criticizing the movie on what iMDB says about an actor's contract, or what movie a studio has in production should have no bearing on your thoughts of what actually happens in a movie.

I don't see myself giving any "leeway" to this movie. Because I don't think the story of IW was poor. It was a story that was set up over multiple movies and then executed damn near perfectly in IW. It's actually interesting that there are a few parallels between this movie and TLJ, which puzzles me even more that you could have negative thoughts on this one, and maintain positive ones on TLJ.
Both movies are sequels with a large cast on different missions in diffferent parts of the galaxy, they are products of a universe of other movies, and they were both directed by a different director from the previous movie. Putting these movies side by side, I don't see how you can not see how IW hit it out of the park, and TLJ failed miserably.

I didn't give TLJ any leeway because it didn't deserve any. The Russos cooridinated with the directors of the other Marvel movies. They worked together to understand what was the vision for those characters, their personalities, and where they saw them going in the future. They also didn't ignore or try to erase things established in previous movies. Johnson acted as if TFA didn't exist. That resulted in a disjointed story from what we knew of in TFA, and the rest of the SW movies. Uneven tone. Weak characters with unknown, or flimsy motivations...none of that was in IW.

I read that in the comics (not in infinity war) Stark uses that forge where Thor got his new axe to make some super ironman-suit. A possibility.

If we see that in MCU

This will happen to me in the theatre

Btw I really don't care about the captain marvel movie. I want a gamora/nebula or gamora/black widow or gamora/scarlet witch.... "Thelma and Louise" type film.
Marvel will make you care....
I never thought i'd ever give a shit about some dork named "Captain America" And yet..when he came on screen the first time in IW, i almost fainted like a southern belle

Someone should make a poll for who will be the one to kill thanos:

I don't think they win by physically beating Thanos, in the comics he was pretty much undone by his own self-doubt. Sure we probably get a lot of cool action scenes but the winning moment is probably not going to be someone attacking him. Someone might kill him after that, or he gets trapped in the soulstone.

I think you have hype(beer) goggles on for this movie a little bit.

And you know what it's fine if you do, I'm just saying it didn't work that great for me, it didn't feel like this big culmination cause the stakes were jimmied from the get go.

So many characters, so little time to work with them it felt disjointed at times and just a huge checklist that had to be filled so everyone gets his share of the pie.

For me a 7 out of 10 is a positive score and the end of it.. I might be biased at times but I do try to keep it real that all failed miserably doesn't hold water to me in the slightest.

You hyped for part 2 ? what do you think happens how do they fix it do you read comics how did they fixed it in there ? Do you think they bring back Gamora ?

This.
It is actually interesting how people are talking about how Ironman or Thor were B-tier characters in comics and how A-tier characters like Batman and Superman are doing poorly in comparison.

The comics don't really matter, most of the people who see the movies have never read them so when you show them a character in a movie, you can make that character A-tier if you have good writing.

nah, i cared about Cap before. We need some more hot colored chicks in the MCU. Lets get more latinas in there. Give Zoe Saldana her own trilogy. Let's get Rosario Dawson in the MCU. Come on
Brie Larson is so basic compared to the likes of Zoe, scarlet joehanson, Cate Blanchette, Tessa Thompson, ect.

If we are gonna have another white chick, she better be thermo nuclear. Brie larson is such a basic b.

Yeah, since watching the MCU movies, ive always liked Iron Man the most.

But since watching Thor: Ragnarok and IW, Thor is one of my favourite characters now. He's hilarious.

Rosario Dawson is in the netflix shows.

i mean there is no Star Wars without Darth Vader so I don’t even think this is a point worth debating.

Vader and Luke are the heart of the OT

Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson have really f**ked up with Star Wars. The Last Jedi had so much potential but they tried to shoehorn in too much politics and ended up pissing off the fans.

I don't even care about episode 9. There's nothing to look forward to. I'll probably still watch it out of obligation.

The MCU has been much better managed. IW was awesome and I already can't wait for the sequel.

3 years ago: Who the fuck is Star Lord and this fat dude playing him?
3 years later: holding back the feels over his life story at the end of his second movie that I anxiously awaited for months

They've given him a lot more personality and he's arguably had the best character development in the MCU. He's a man who's lost everything, that's very endearing and relatable for such a larger than life figure.

I have zero interest in Solo. Would maybe watch it on Netflix just to see Donald Glover as Lando

Let's be honest, Thor had the worst films in the MCU before Ragnarok.

Thor 2 is one of the worst movies in the MCU no doubt. I didn't hate the first one though

“And rejoice, you have had the privilege of being saved by the great Titan! You may think this is suffering, no, it is salvation! The universal scales tipped toward balance, because of your sacrifice and smile. For even in death, you have become children of Thanos!”

I haven't seen Ant Man. The concept just seems a bit silly, I wish the MCU had stuck to more serious heroes.

Someone should make a poll for who will be the one to kill thanos:

1. Captain Marvel
2. Drax the Destroyer
3. Gamorra
4. Nebula
5. Adam Warlock
6. Thor
7. Captain America
8. Ironman
9. Hulk
10. Scarlet Witch
11. Vision
12. Starlord
13. Anyone from the FOX roster
14. Himself
15. Other (who?) or he survives

Then we can see who is right in the end

Cap and Iron Man but it's going to cost them their lives.

Watched it again this evening & Thor bifrosting into Wakanda and wrecking shop gives me chills. Crazy thing he probably has had the most tragic storyline out of all the characters & you can see his no fucks given when he shows up.

Cap and Iron Man but it's going to cost them their lives.

Lets also remember cap was willing to die for his ppl b4 trt.
He jumped on a unknowingly botched grenade in CAP1

Tony did something similar in A1 when he flew up portal to save earth.

Getting emotional thinking about this lol, but i wont be suprised if something along these lines happen in A4 but this time for real
