I'm tempted to give it a 9, the third act was amazing for me. I have to think it over some more.

No pressure man.

It’s just that with the hype surrounding the movie I was expecting a 9/10 minimum. In aa way I’m glad you gave it a 8.5, it makes me less guilty having to wait till next weekend to watch it.

Not really. There's a lot of surprises in Infinity War but it's mostly positive and inoffensive, not unlike The Last Jedi where it feels like Rian Johnson is spitting at the fans and J.J. Abrams' face.
