@MayhemMonkey @Nonsense Let’s not make this uglier than it already is. Both of you just agree to disagree.

Mayhem, I know Nonsense and she is a stand-up person. She is not “making shit up.” I believe that is what she heard. Let’s just leave it at that. Personally, I believe you since you watched it again and “field trip” makes more sense than “future.” But you were also a bit in the wrong in the way you responded initially which led to the gradual escalation of harsh words.

I will delete any future posts from both of you that continues this squabble.

Nonsense is a chick?

Wow props to her for investing in IW.

I also commented on that in my spoiler thoughts in the OP that
Iron Man could have zapped Quill when he was getting too emotional. I kinda forgot what Strange was doing while they were trying to get the Gauntlet. I believe there are a number of possibilities that could have prevented Quill from hitting Thanos. The writers just wanted it that way. Just go with it. At least the PIS is not that glaring or too insulting.

Good call

It was really smart of Marvel to cover themselves that way. They basically told us that all the “what if”s were all failures and there is only one possible path based on what Strange saw...

Brilliant...

Don't know it its been mentioned but with reguards to Strange my guess is...

The one chance of success in 14,000,000 he saw wasn't defeating Thanos on Titan but actually losing to him in exactly the way they did which sets in motion events in the sequel that untimately defeats his plan. Its why I suspect he says "it was the only way" to Stark, he knows he has to allow Thanos to win at that point and he knows Stark has to live to help reverse things ultimately. This is the reason why he gives up the stone to save Stark having previously said he would let him die.

my bad dude, but I dont see how my initial post is confrontational.... it was this

I only started getting annoyed when I was basically called a liar. I just didnt want people to start believing false information, thats all I was trying to do. I had no issue with nonsense until she called me an asshole. this is my first interaction with her so its nothing personal

sorry again to you, and sorry to you @Nonsense
In your initial response, it was the "stop making shit up" that was a bit insulting since it implies that she is lying. Nobody wants to be labeled as a liar.

But anyway, no apologies needed to me but I am happy you showed you are a bigger man and apologized to Nonsense. This is very rare in Sherdog.

I edited my post.

I had realized, that portal scheme wouldnt have worked because you cant create a portal in someone. They would need to physically move into it. Cull moved into it earlier. Thanos while sedated still held his own. He wasnt going anywhere. They had a hard time holding him down, so moving him into a portal would be impossible.

Another poster said, Dr strange probably attempted it in one of his 14000650 outcomes that failed.

Ironman couldve zapped quill but I think he was so emotional there was nothing that was gonna stop him from coming forward. Iron man also needs him so blasting him away would mess up their plan. He needed all of them so aslong they followed the plan and worked together. Which obviously failed.

Dr strange is letting the plan run its course I believe.

He needs stark and enough of the avengers alive but believes its also enough to stop Thanos and his burnt out gauntlet

right we get it..... you think the humour is forced.

the rest of us disagree, we enjoy the humour

In THIS movie? A little. In GOTG or the last Thor? No.

Also, lmao at "the rest of us." Might want to get that schizophrenia checked out. Internet > sex types really do need to feel as though they are followers and part of a nerd herd to be safe.. Very sad.

Agreed. That was my immediate thought while watching it.

It makes everything fall into place doesn't it rather than Strange having a suddenly misguided attack of sympathy for Stark, also why he says it just as he's dissolving, he knew it would happen.

Indeed I wouldn't be supprised if the ironys is Strange's plan ultimately resulting in Stark's death whilst the other characters dissolved are restored showing he was living up to his world previously.

that was my 2nd response dude

and I have no issue with nonsense so apologising isnt that big of a deal really, as I said I was just trying to let her know she misheard.... when she didnt want to accept that is when I said what I did, but in hindsight I shouldnt have reacted like that. so my bad

the next movie is maybe a little obvious. Stark is going to die to save most of the others. Thanos is the only one that can truly stop himself, which could be an homage to thanos in the comics, as he used to sabatoge himself as the only way he could lose. Thanos love for gamora is going to come into play in the big reversal, and stark is going to be the one that dies for real. Dr. Strange saw this.

Upon talking to some friends last night over adult beverages, I can see where some people might not feel this movie....

As far as a MCU movie, I don't see how this is anything less than 8/10. I myself give it a 9/10.

As a comic book fan who knows a little something something about these characters, their powers, and what they are truly capable of or NOT capable of in the comics, you can easily give this movie a way lower score. I'd say putting it around the 6/10 range.

The deal is this. The Russo brothers wrote a script based loosely on the comics and they took creative differences to make a great MCU movie.

I feel like if you're an MCU fan, based off the last 10 years of movies, it's hard to be upset/disappointed with this film. And if you're a comic book fan and know stuff, you have to put those feelings aside and enjoy this movie for what it is.

It might have been over the top, so sorry about that, but you need to stop coming at people with such aggressive negativity.

I liked the movie.
aggressive negativity? maybe you need to re-read my post

how is "we get it, you think the humour is forced" then saying the rest of us disagree "aggressive negativity"?? Stop making it seem like Im trying to start arguments

You were pretending that everybody agrees with you; they do not. You were pretending your delusion proved what I was saying has no merit; it does not.
