can she though? looked like some of his brain(if he has one) gets pulled out with the stone...I remember thinking "eww thats a tad graphic"
Oh yeah, his death scene was graphic. I was joking to my kid that Vision would have been like, "Ugh, give me the exploding death instead please!"

Shuri is a genius, I'm sure they can fix Vision. Remember that intense scene where she was busy attending to Vision while Corvus Glaive was coming for her. I believe she got enough data from Vision to bring him back. When Vision was dead and seen all colored pale and gray, I was thinking his next version would look similar to this:

Question about a character:

What happened to Valkyrie? Did she die before the movie even started...? Wish to have seen a bit of her..
and Korg :( only thing that gave me hope was later in the movie Thor says that "half my people were slaughtered" so I dont know how many were left alive. But I hope we see Valkyrie and Korg again

Holy shit, this was the best comic movie of all time. That ending shook me. Can't believe they did it. I felt the whole time there's gotta be someway, but nope.

And that ending exactly like the ending of Infinity gauntlet in the comics (and opening scene of Thanos 1) after. Fuck.

Everyone in the theater was fucking shook. 10/10 will see again.

I think phase 3 has been improving. The only flaw was Ragnarok. I wanted a more serious film. The jokes about Asgard being destroyed were too much.
Ragnorok was brilliant.... it was the best Thor movie by far.

Asgard isnt a place..... its the people ;)
who are half dead after IW lol

I can't tell if this post is serious or not. Are you trying to come off as a pretentious film critic for laughs or are you serious? For some reason I couldn't take this post serious

I must confess, it is 2:30am here in England and I assumed my personal assistant had misrepresented me in my previous post due to a fatigue related error (an unfortunate but still fireable offense). At this hour I refuse to write myself and insist on waking my assistant in order to dictate my essays and correspondence.

Upon reviewing my previous post, I cannot see anything wrong and stand by it completely.

I understand your distaste for the low brow, but one cannot simply compare the average low tier English language Hollywood flick to haute cinema.

For example, I recently went to see a private screening of Lê Cochon au chocolat, which was stimulating in both a spiritual, sexual and existential sense. The Avengers lacks this sort of emotional depth, but it is still good to escape the horrors of the proliteriat or kill time before having to travel to ones Pier-ά-Terre.

My rating was given in my previous post (dictated but not written).

well when you complain about marvel movies being funny..... what do you want them to be?

I don't have a problem with being funny. I enjoy the comedy in Iron Man 1, Thor 1, Captain America 1, Avengers 1, and surprisingly there was a lot of stuff in IW that was genuinely funny. That's great. But the stuff in AoU, Ragnarok, Dr. Strange, etc was just downright painful. It seems a majority of the "comedy" Marvel implements post-Whedon is very "Whedon-esque". It's like they purposely try to emulate his brand of humor and it's godawful. So many potentially tense moments have been absolutely ruined because they had to undercut the build with a ridiculous one liner (trying to be witty and funny). Most of it is beyond cringeworthy.

Speaking of the darkness of DC, I enjoyed the hell out Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, but pretty much everything else post-those two films has been absolutely godawful. (It's more than just the dark, bleak portrayal. It's that DC (or WB) has no clue what the hell they are doing anymore). A movie that's dark and absolutely humorless can be great. The same as a movie that's full of humor can be great. But it all depends on the way it's executed and if it's appropriate for what's going on.

Ragnarok saved the declining Marvel universe from DC Comic level pedestrianism.

I’m shook by this movie.. it moved a tad fast but there was so much to do it had to.

It hit me in the feels...

10/10

I'm curious what the person who voted this movie a 3/10 has to say. I'm bewildered anyone in their right mind knowing this is both a superhero movie and a marvel movie was that disappointed with the final product. Like seriously, what on earth is that person thinking? A fucking 3. Lol.

really? I thought Batman begins was pish.... and the only thing that made the Dark Knight watchable was the Joker. People act like that trilogy was something special when in reality it was one decent movie out of 3.

Also Thor Ragnorok wasnt "whedon-esque" in anyway..... neither was Dr Strange. T:R was the most succesful Thor movie yet... so the fans disagree with you

oh he's an idiot hipster, dont even worry about him

CW and Black Panther were great.
Wasn’t a big fan of Spiderman or Dr. Strange solo films, but definitely an average to above average.

The fact that Marvel allows a relatively unknown director in Watiti to take helm of one of their biggest characters and develop the movie in his own image is a testament to their faith in their decision making. I’m sure they collaborated with Taika to ensure the film aligns with the cinematic universe, but its great to see something different. Sucked that it didn’t turn out that way with Edgar Wright’s Antman.

Reality and a Cohiba Robusto after every successful business deal.
Civil War, Spiderman, Dr Strange, GotG2, Thor, BP..... na you've clearly been smoking crystal meth lol

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was an acceptable film.

The rest was rubbish, and if I saw the DVD (or whatever physical instrument people use to watch movies these days) inside someone’s primary residence,I would smirk at them, just enough to let them know that I wholeheartedly disapprove of their life choices.

In fairness to them, it's my unofficial rules. I don't make any formal announcement in the thread title or in the OP because I didn't want to make a big deal out of it like in the Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead threads. Majority of you didn't seem to have a problem with the current set-up, so I just continued with it.

But Infinity War is turning out to be bigger than the other movie threads. Although the moratorium for spoiler box will be lifted in two days, how would you guys feel about a separate Infinity War spoiler thread where you guys don't have to put them in spoiler box. After two days, the threads will get merged. Or you're content with the current set-up?
My humble opinion on the issue...i completely get why you have this rule. It makes sense, and is a courteous thing to do, on the other hand, despite the explanation, I am kind of baffled as to why people go into a thread about a movie they want to see, if they don't want to be spoiled..not just any movie, but huge movies like this, where we've been talking about them for a year before they even come out..there's obviously going to be a lot of people that want to talk about it. I wouldn't expect a whole forum to not talk about something because i didn't see it yet..but I do understand the logic behind your setup.

I know we can use the spoiler tags, and maybe it's just in my head, but, I feel like not as many people will read and respond to things in spoiler tags. I know that i don't. It's a bit more of a hassle to respond to, and keep all the posts that I want to respond to in order
So just my opinion, i don't think a thread that's open for spoiler talk in big movies like this is unfair. It kind of feels like Im waiting to really talk about the movie till after the weekend.
Justt my opinion, my dude, and it's not a huge deal either way. Appreciate the work you do in these threads.:D

Watched last night. I liked it more than every Marvel movie since Iron Man 1 besides Winter Soldier/Black Panther. And I realized it’s because SOMETHING ACTUALLY HAPPENS. And they didn’t undercut literally every single emotional moment with a lame quip (there were a few times but it was more balanced). Although Marvel still seems to be afraid of letting genuine moments sit on the whole, it was definitely lot better here.

I’m intrigued to see what happens next year as I know they’re doing something with time travel based of Chris Evan’s Avengers 1 suit. But it just made me realize that for the 4839297th time they’re going to pull the ol’, “Oh no someone died so sad... but wait!” Except this time a with the whole cast. Oh well at least we got 1 movie out of this without the usual bullfuckery.
