If you know the history, you know this isn't feasible really. They gave Thanos relatable depth despite being a genocidal maniac. That is much more impressive to me and made the movie better than it could've been.
Yeah they threw me for a loop with Thanos. Sort of expected he would show up and be EVIL. But while egotistical, he does have feelings and in his mind what he's doing is the only rational course. I was not expecting a three dimensional villain, and it really added a lot to the movie for me.

Yeah, Oldboy, Ichi The Killer and Battle Royale were movies I learned about on Sherdog, but couldn't find.
Oldboy was ruined for me and then soon after it was available on AppleTV. Then Battle Royale. I just saw Ichi for the fist time a few weeks ago.
Haha I saw Ichi the killer when I was a teenager and that fucked my head right up. That and audition

You scary Japan.

wow wtf lul. I haven't seen that movie, but I knew Brolin, Olsen and Jackson were in it from the trailers, and I think after I saw Guardians 2 I looked Pom up and saw she was in it as well, but I never put it together that they are also all in this movie.

Not to a good result sadly, much better to stick with the Korean original, better told and much better filmed. Again I think for Olsen in a good physlogical drama(yes with skin on display although much of it intended to be disturbing) watch Martha Marcy May Marlene, especially after that recent Allison Mack sex cult reveal.

Olsen could get it. Wood.

I like how they handle thanos with little of his back story but the fate of the "gone" is less dramatic or urgent due to the fact that we know that the souls won't be handed over to death. Just a matter of how the remaining, or the ones trapped in the soul world will figure out how to escape -- just makes it more adventurous than dire.

That's got just as much to do with how movies are made and Hollywood.
