Help me understand why ENDGAME topping the box office is so important to you.

If you can do it without taking anyone or thing down, bonus, but I'm not here to just pillory -- I'd love to get to the root of why it is people get so intense over capitalist byoollshit.

To me it's like I'm looking at this guy except that he's way more serious than he's not:

I'm actually just looking for an opportunity to see it again- don't care about the extra stuff. Awesome movie and I definitely would like to see it one more time on the big screen.

I'm kind of amazed that Avatar still holds that record a decade later. What a juggernaut that was at the time. The funny thing is that it was reminiscent of Cameron's other mega hit Titanic in that it came out the same time of year and just kept having tiny depreciation week to week. Insane durability.

I remember seeing Avatar at the IMAX back in the day, but that was like almost a week after it came out, Avatar at the IMAX was always sold out.

Definitely a massive event movie. I didn't love it though. Same with Titanic. It was good to watch, entertaining, well made, but it didn't leave a huge impression on me and I doubt I'll ever watch either of them all through again.

Aliens and Terminator and T2 though- absolute classics with terrific replay value in my opinion.

Endgame, to me, is a better movie than Avatar. Infinity War for sure as well.

It was quite the spectacle at the IMAX but I don’t think I could ever finish it at home.

Then after you saw it, were you like "always" what the fuck?

Yes! Fuck, give this guy a medal!

Yeah! Look endgame is good but its no infinity war, so im baffled how it beat avatar.

HOWEVER..

How in the holy hell are titanic and avatar such sell outs???

Aliens and T2 are fantastic, though i prefer Terminator.

Seriously, from day 1, ive been flabbergasted that avatar has been such a success.

Indeed, Endgame having a typical modern blockbuster short run of wide release probably did mean that quite a few people who wanted to give it a 2nd/3rd watch didn't get a chance to.

Both Titanic and Avatar were films that had a really massive draw, they became media events and loads of people who never or rarely go to the cinema ended up seeing them. In a way I think its impressive End Game actually managed to get nearly as much as it did in a franchise were you would think its nature limits the audience, I was expecting it to do a little bit better than Infinity War.

Same reason I support Rangers and the Patriots; the game is more exciting if you have skin in it. You pick a team and root for them.

In the real world, of course, it doesn't mean shit. Because both the MCU and Avatar are Disney's whores, and the pimp will get paid no matter who the John chooses to blow his load over;)

Because Prime Leo made bitches wetter than the Titanic's engines. Add to that all the, "romance" crap and you have a movie that will keep the ladies coming back for more;)

Cameron, "Why are you re-releasing Endgame?"

Disney, "It's not personal. It's business".

They will do the same with Avatar.. maybe not in 2021 but soon with the 3rd movie maybe.

Then again Cameron has an ego and power so maybe he will force their hand and say it's great marketing to go along with the release of the new one. We will see, kinda annoyed we still on this Avatar stuff, I personally don't vibe with it at all and I miss the days of Aliens / T2 but that's just my own taste.

The winning Cameron formula is basically to mix cookie cutter romance with CGI spectacle.

A shame really as he used to do pretty good non schmaltzy romance by blockbuster standards in stuff like Terminator and The Abyss.

You wanna try that again? Because that's not how skins work. That's not how any of this works. Like with sports a skin means risk, like money. Not cheering. Not jeering. I doubt you're saying you've got emotion invested in the box office leader. So what is it?

I know I'm a bit literal but this is what happens. Shoddy use of language obscures meaning, and conveys the wrong idea. I'm sure you harbor greater depth of understanding of yourself but to me you're a guy who compares every act of superiority to sexual objectification. Look it's the guy who takes everything behind the shed. Can we please not rape chicken sandwiches? Is there no other way to say this? Not that anyone cares either way.

Maybe there is no answer.

Another thing I don't understand is petitioning to alter films. Who is that guy?

That's exactly how this works. Millions of people support the Pats and are invested emotionally in them winning the Super Bowl. But whether the Pats win or lose, their fans lives go on exactly as before. There are no real-life consequences. You don't lose your job if Brady doesn't win another Super Bowl Ring. I don't become a millionaire if Rangers beat Celtic.

Also, please keep your weird sexual fetishes regarding sandwiches out of this discussion, thank you.
