So he preemptively wipes out Hydra. I'm good with that.

I don't think he can. Hydra is technically SHIELD and SHIELD led by Fury is the group that is responsible for the creation of the Avengers. No Hydra, no SHIELD, Coulson and Nick Fury.

Not to mention the overlap in Captain Marvel.

Hmmm...the infiltration was started by Zola, right?

Gamora is with Quill

Natasha and Bruce almost have a thing

Wanda of course was in a relationship with Vision

They have relationships but there not defined by them, they don't exist to be a male characters romantic interest as say Portman did early on, indeed I would say in the case of two of those three relationships the female character is the more prominent one.

That was the inference from the movies. Mind you if they were mirroring project paperclip (where the US actually took a bunch of Nazi scientists as the end of WW2) it could have been other allies of Red Skull as well.

Sorry but all I see are chubby guy MJ and flash in the trailer.
Betty Brant is also in the school trip. So aside from Liz not in there (due to transferring to another school), Peter's high school supporting cast seems intact to me.

After thinking about it some more, I wish I could take back my vote and lower it a bit. I can't believe I am saying this, but the movie would have benefited from being split into two parts as there was lots of things that just felt needlessly rushed. Part one being them realizing there is still a way to win and gathering everyone (lots of drama and some comedy/action mixed in to keep people happy) then part two being the gathering of the stones and the final (and now much longer) confrontation.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME Soars to Record $60 Million in U.S. from Thursday Night Previews

Disney and Marvel's Avengers: Endgame commenced its North American box office run with a staggering $60 million in Thursday night previews, setting a new record.

The previous crownholder for biggest preview gross was fellow Disney tentpole Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($57 million).

Overseas, Avengers: Endgame also continues to smash records since beginning to roll out on Wednesday. Its two-day gross is a massive $305 million, including a hefty chunk from China, for an early worldwide total of $365 million before the weekend officially begins.

Directed by the Russo brothers, who shot the movie back-to-back with last year's Infinity War, Endgame is now on course for a record-shattering global launch of $950 million, if not $1 billion. That could include a potential all-time best of $270 million to $300 million domestically, where the event pic is getting the widest release of all time, or 4,600 theaters.

Infinity War is the current record holder for biggest global opening ($640.5 million) and biggest domestic launch($257.6 million), not adjusted for inflation. (Infinity War earned $38 million in domestic previews.)

The nostalgia factor is running hot. Not only is Endgame a direct sequel to Infinity War, it's the culmination of the previous 21 titles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a blockbuster series of films that commenced with Iron Man in 2008 and established Kevin Feige's Marvel Studios as best in show.

Internationally, Endgame set opening day records in numerous markets, such as in China, where it grossed $107.5 million on Wednesday (through Thursday, that gross grew to $154.5 million).

The movie — which is pacing ahead of Infinity War everywhere — also posted the highest single gross in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, The Philippines, the U.K., Brazil, Egypt, Panama, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, Trinidad and Uruguay

never understood why they gave him a drawn on beard

In this pic, you can clearly tell he has a patchy beard

Adam Warlock is a good guy though (at least in the comics). Magus his future counterpart is the bad guy. And given all the time travel that occured, it could be a good way to set the stage for Magus to come back.

Of course Adam has the soul gem and we have no idea how steve returned that one.
The post credits scene in GotG2 teased him as a bad guy. He'll probably be one temporarily then join the good guys.

That's how it worked in the comics. When he is "born" he doesn't really understand what is going on

It's almost a parallel of Visions creation especially given he has the Mind Stone (while in the comics the Vision never had an infinity stone).

So if they are hunting for Gamora and Nebula, its likely they get in trouble fighting the big baddie, Warlock teams up with them and Gamora and Nebula arrive to save the day

I might be too sensitive it too for all I know but I am out after this because in my view its heading down a bad path in regards to quality.
We're kind of coming from the same place on this one but I have to admit that it's an old fashioned notion. While I still harbor the notion that bringing up these kinds of details USED to have a major impact on story -- like the movie is making a statement -- such is no longer the case. The current trend is not making a point about this or that type of person -- but rather that "that type" of person should be represented on film because there should be no distinctions made between "this" or "that." We're all just people, and as such we crave seeing some semblance of ourselves onscreen. While it's okay to feel like, "Well, that's not ME on the screen," but I'm not sure that the idea of "woke points" scores anything except on the humor scale.

Yeah, I'm thinking before Adam turns good he'll have a big fight with the Guardians though.

Agreed although he really wasn't that powerful in the comics initially even with the soul gem. They made him more powerful later once Magus came back and the whole Thanos storyline started taking shape.

She and Nebula took off. Given Gamora has no knowledge or connection to the guardians, it would be hard to make her stick around. Based on what they showed at the end, the third Guardians movie will be based on the Guardians searching for Gamora.

In my room. But seriously. She doesn't know Quill and the Guardians, so it's natural she doesn't want to hang around with them. She's not that close with her sister. Her father is finally dead. She probably just want to be alone for now.

Nebula's in the ship with the Guardians. The whole setup doesn't make me think 2014 Gamora is alive. All of Thanos' ships got dusted so there's no reason Quill should be wanting to leave Earth as Gamora can't leave Earth. I think with no more stones the rules of the universe change and GOTG3 will explore that.

For me one of the best Easter Eggs in the movie is when cap says "Hail Hydra" in the movie. Of course alluding to the comics where Cap was a hydra agent the whole time.

Kind of makes up for Marvel making the Skrulls good guys in Captain Marvel.

I cannot believe how they did Thanos early in the film? Really ??? head chopped off like a common peasant.
it was important to show the heavy toll using the gauntlet had on Thanos. He was a shell of himself.

No mention if he'll get the serum or not. It's assumed that he'll still be normal (not enhanced), probably the same with what happened in the comics.

Nada on the enhanced part in the comics.

Civil War Falcon was meh. But ever since Civil War, I like how they portrayed Falcon and his offensive/defensive wing tech and fighting prowess.
Ahh so he is basically Falcon with a Shield. That can make sense then. I thought he went full Captain America, meaning no wings or high tech. A shield, guns and fists. Which would not get him far.

Vibranium is the strongest stuff on Earth. But out in the universe they could have stronger metals or Vibranium alloys.
I actually think Adamantium is the strongest metal and Vibraniums key property is the ability to absorb or deflect energy thus making it appear strong, since the force of any blows are absorbed or deflected. I think combined they make one of the strongest metal compounds in the Universe up there with Uru metal such as in Mjolnir and Stormbreaker.

Aside from the time travel continuity inconsistencies, the reason why Steve going back to 1940s to stay with Peggy does not make sense is that in order for this to be pulled off successfully, Steve will have to lead a normal boring life (probably just hiding inside the house). But knowing one of my favorite Marvel and MCU character, I don't believe Steve can stay away from helping out people. And with his knowledge of history, I don't believe Steve will sit idly by and let history take its course. Imagine him knowing about the historical dates that terrorism, killings, notable deaths, massacres, genocide and all kinds of acts of atrocities will take place and do nothing.

Ya, the more I think of this the less I think they can explore it without causing massive timeline problems. They just need to let it lie unexplained which goes back to one of your first posts (I think it was you), that you just gloss over timeline plot holes and enjoy the ride.
