Aside from the time travel continuity inconsistencies, the reason why Steve going back to 1940s to stay with Peggy does not make sense is that in order for this to be pulled off successfully, Steve will have to lead a normal boring life (probably just hiding inside the house). But knowing one of my favorite Marvel and MCU character, I don't believe Steve can stay away from helping out people. And with his knowledge of history, I don't believe Steve will sit idly by and let history take its course. Imagine him knowing about the historical dates that terrorism, killings, notable deaths, massacres, genocide and all kinds of acts of atrocities will take place and do nothing.

I smell prequel films.

In comic lore when Falcon takes up the mantle does he somehow get enhanced ...because if not then it makes little sense??

Nada on the enhanced part in the comics.

Civil War Falcon was meh. But ever since Civil War, I like how they portrayed Falcon and his offensive/defensive wing tech and fighting prowess.

And does anyone really care that Widow died? I was sitting in the theatre with my kid last night and obviously the death of Iron Man was sad but when Widow dropped, no one in the theatre seemed too perturbed.

I get she's not the most popular character but all this talk about true deaths in the series and she seemed like an afterthought.

I did read on another site about a theory that Steve Rogers (who in the comics does not age), returns the soul stone and gives up his immortality (and returns the stone) for the return of black widow.

Given she is getting her own movie (which could very well be a prequel), it seems odd to kill her off.

On a side note how awesome was Thor? And that he is joining the Guardians is pretty fantastic, his character fits in much better with that group.

Can anyone explain where Cap got the shield at the end of the movie that he gave to Falcon? His shield was destroyed by Thanos. On top of that, when he was on the platform to go back in time, all he had was the box with the gems and Thor's hammer to return to their time stream.

Assuming he went back to somewhere in the 50's, he couldn't go take his other self's shield (for a whole bunch of reasons), so where exactly did he get the shield from?

Have they ever shown more than one shield in the MCU? Maybe like a prototype or something. If not then fuck knows lmao

When the shield was given to him by Tony's dad, they said it was one of a kind because they only had a small amount of Vibranium (given they had no clue Wakanda had mountains of the stuff)

A way to fix this should have been Shuri and Black Panther repairing his shield and giving it to him before he went back in time.

They didn't bring him back to life. He escaped with the cosmic cube during the scuffle to steal it in the past. Whether or not that changes the timeline was never specified.

Don't you guys see that this is how the writers cleverly designed the loopholes so that major characters like Loki and Gamora remain dead dead in Infinity War but these major characters will still show up in future MCU films/shows.

So where do you think 2014 Gamora went?

Not to mention that it's very convenient that all of Peter's high school supporting cast got dusted and that's why they are still together in Far From Home. Otherwise, some of them would have aged 5 years and would have graduated high school.

The only cast they showed was chubby guy. There are no guarantees that any of the other characters will be there in the new movie. Assuming half his school got dusted, really the only other main character was MJ.

Thor being in Guardians is best for business imo. Now that Quill doesn't have God powers, there's no way the Guardians would be able to take on Adam Warlock without Thor.

She and Nebula took off. Given Gamora has no knowledge or connection to the guardians, it would be hard to make her stick around. Based on what they showed at the end, the third Guardians movie will be based on the Guardians searching for Gamora.

Adam Warlock is a good guy though (at least in the comics). Magus his future counterpart is the bad guy. And given all the time travel that occured, it could be a good way to set the stage for Magus to come back.

Of course Adam has the soul gem and we have no idea how steve returned that one.

In my room. But seriously. She doesn't know Quill and the Guardians, so it's natural she doesn't want to hang around with them. She's not that close with her sister. Her father is finally dead. She probably just want to be alone for now.

The Universe is secure in Stage 2 because the Top Avenger has survived. I love that he went on a John Wick, dog, type run through crime families after they killed his family.

But in all seriousness, it was clear Widow always felt she owed Cint some major debt. That she felt he saved her in the past and gave her this new life. It was then required that for the proper end of her character for her to sacrifice herself to now save him and return him to his wife and kids.

Really though I think you see the Russo's focus most heavily on the charcters who's stories they've been telling in their MCU films, in Winter Solider and Civil War I think you could argue she was behind only Rogers and Stark in focus.

I give them credit for really fleshing her out as a character shifting her from someone with a generic "dark past" to someone who is driven by a realistic sense of guilt of that past. Trying to assuage that guilt has obviously driven a lot of her actions so that end feels like the way to take that to its logical conclusion. You also I think have the effect of now shifting Hawk in a similar kind of direction making him a far more interesting character than he was previously.

Part of the reason the Captain Marvel situation grates for me is that really I think the criticism of the MCU was largely unmerited, if I think of characters with the most substance to them then besides Stark and Rogers I would say that actually most of them are female, Widow, Wanda, Gamora and Nebula and none of them are really defined as someone elses love interest. If we lose that in favour of "Poweh!" then its a step backwards not forwards IMHO.
