When I saw which way the story was going I couldn't believe it and actually got really excited. Such a dark intense character study from literally every pov, and cap and tony finally getting back together and working through everything from CW.

They did a masterful job of introducing real conflict between the heroes, and then having so much shit go wrong they couldn't even catch a breath to talk about it until now. Another area where they could have phoned it in, but everyone's emotions and reactions feel visceral and real.

I enjoyed the humanizing "slow" first half as much as I have anything in the MCU

To me it just feels like the natural reaction to Infinity War, I didn't expect it to get "even bigger and badder" but rather to be more dramatic. Really IW feels a lot like Empire Strikes Back to me, it doesn't disrespect the audience(as Last Jedi did) but ultimately it shows that heroic coolness isn't enough to get the job done.

As you say it is interesting to see grand heroic fantasy take its drama seriously, its not something we actually see all that often, Empire mentioned above, the middle of Back to the Future 2, Terminator 1/2, part of Jacksons LOTR(such as Boromir) but generally we see more standard clichés. I mean the nature of the MCU does mean things are a little "messier" than some of the above but also you do have an incredibly strong cast showing there chops.

People are talking about best picture but actually I think where End Game could and perhaps should be a break though is getting some acting nominations, without knowing what else we might see this year I think Downey Jnr defiantly deserves a best actor nom and Johansson a supporting actress.

I love love LOVE what this movie does. It shows the casual audience that heart and belief in human spirit and achievement is represented through comics. Comics have always had these strong stories with an emotional core, really exploring what the concept of heroism means.

I am blown away they managed to get all of that on the big screen without it seeming really cheesy, or sacrificing all the elements that make comics fun.

I really mean it when I say these movies are a cinematic achievement on many levels, not just the action stuff. These are actually well done, dramatic character studies. Stan and Jack would be damn proud to see how much respect people still have for their vision.

Am I the only one who thought it was great but that in general MCU movies, including this one, have no re-watch value? I have never wanted to watch any MCU movie a second time. Not trying to be edgy, I just have no desire to, even though I enjoy them.
 
The Russos said Katherine Langford was cut from the film because her scene kinda stuck out like a sore thumb. Originally she was to play an older version of Tony's daughter Morgan, whom he'd meet in some strange ante-dimension -- I suppose similar to Thanos meeting up with a child Gamorra -- and forgive him for sacrificing his life to destroy Thanos so he could shuffle off this mortal coil.

Ultimately, "I love you 3000" was deemed the best emotional impact.

I could have done without the five minute silence for cheetheborders, tho.

Eh some I havent rewatched but IW I've seen at least a dozen times by now, and I bought the blu ray right away even though I saw it twice in theaters. Seen GOTG 2 and thor ragnarok a bunch of times too.

Now that the big arc is over I think I'd actually like to go back and rewatch all of them.

I’ve rewatched several of them. Thor: Ragnarok the most.
 
10 years later im still trying to figure out why the fuck Avatar is the #1 box office movie of all time.

Some warrant a second viewing, some don't. Iron Man, GotG and Ragnarok are ones ill never stop rewatching when it's on tv or netflix.
